Re: “F-35s in Boise? 'We Don't Know What We Don't Know'

We have nationally recognized experts in finance & health & government documenting that exceptionally loud aircraft such as the F-35 should not be based at an airport that is located 'within' a community airport like Gowan Field. The F-35s will cause great financial loss & irreparable hearing damage to thousands in the valley.
We have the the lawful evidence on-hand to stop this folly as we have other damaging projects in the valley but leaders of anti-F-35 leadership have lacked the will to do anything but complain. Abusive public servants are products of weak willed people...

Re: “UPDATED: ACHD Votes to Make Fifth, Sixth Streets Two-Way

Fifth St. is a direct shot down from Myrtle and Front. Good for State workers, VA employees and VA patients. Sixth St is a direct shot back out to Front and Myrtle for these same people. Converting these streets to two ways will create more congestion, slow moving traffic for people wanting to get to work or go home. Same for VA patients going to appointments and heading out again. I am still getting used to the downtown conversions. Not crazy about them.

Re: “Best Local Ethnic Market

The address for India Foods is incorrect. It should be 6020 W Fairview Ave, Boise, ID 83704.

Re: “F-35s in Boise? 'We Don't Know What We Don't Know'

There is another constituency without ANY representation of their particular interests. They may offer a compromise solution that benefits both the pro and con sides of this debate. They are the thousands of Boiseans waiting on the Affordable Housing List who are eligible for subsidized housing for numerous reasons who languish on the waiting list for YEARS. I for one would be glad to live near the Airport especially since the F-35 is no where near as capable of ruining my hearing as the ACTUAL and REAL bomb that exploded against my house in 1987 where it was place by anti-American terrorists. No I was not in the military or intelligence services. Maybe those of us can be supported by the government in buying many if not all of the homes within the impacted zone by the airport and share in the benefit of the F-35 while fairly compensating homeowners who want to move away from the airport. All 3 groups of people benefit: 1. Housing for people who do not currently have any 2. people who want to leave the area. 3. People who want to stay.

Re: “Best Local Pet Store

We're transplants from Denver via Seattle and Northwest Pets is the best pet store we've been to in all 3 cities.

I am also a motorist, cyclist, pedestrian and I live downtown. Two way streets will provide more entertainment with more close calls between cyclists, pedestrians and motorists. Woo, woo

Re: “UPDATED: ACHD Votes to Make Fifth, Sixth Streets Two-Way

I am a motorist AND a cyclist AND a pedestrian, and converting the streets to two-way will not help me while I am walking, biking, or driving. I rarely see eye-to-eye with Otter on anything, but I completely agree with his sentiments quoted in this article.

Re: “UPDATED: ACHD Votes to Make Fifth, Sixth Streets Two-Way

Downtown Boise has already become a punishing trek on most days. Parking is bad or too expensive, and more consideration is given to bicyclists and pedestrians than motorists who need to get to work, want to see a show, or go shopping. The city needs to cater to residents, not just the tourists.

Homelessness doesn't cause addiction.
Addiction causes homelessness.

Re: “Leaders Break Ground on Housing-First Development for Chronically Homeless in Boise

"According to a Boise State University study, 100 chronically homeless Boiseans cost the community at least $5.3 million per year"

How to 100 people each cost $53,000 per year which is more than the average household income for the USA and higher than the average household income for all of Idaho, both cases meaning multiple people!?!? Government inefficiency again or what?

Re: “Latter Day Stressed

My heart goes out to you! I left the church 6 years ago. I too was fully engulfed in the life of a Mormon ,Sunday meetings, temple attendance the whole enchilada! I won't go into all the details of my story, but I can tell you a happier person you will be! The fallout will be ugly so make sure you are up to the battle! Move forward! Live your life for you! The storm of shock will quiet and all will be well and you will be happy! Cheers to you and the life you are meant to lead!
