Re: “We've Been Here Before: Historians Annotate, Analyze Immigration Ban's Place in History

The real story here is why are refugees skirting Normal Immigration Procedure? The whole of the Refugee program should be shut down....

Re: “A New State Department Order to Revoke Visas Could Have Far-Reaching Effects

This signals the beginning. Next they will go after our own citizens. The educated, the dissenters, the press. Very dangerous days ahead as we become like countries we have only read about. Think it can't happen? Read history. That's what they always think.

Re: “'Mr. Trump, I Would Be Dead Today If This Country Had Not Let Me In'

I'm happy that Mr. Mancheno found refuge in this great country. But for a man who claims to be an immigration attorney, threatening to "defend the Constitution" from Trump is a little over the top! We can agree - or disagree and argue all day - about the merits of restricting immigration based on "source country," but the executive order was NOT unconstitutional. Every president has probably enacted similar restrictions - including Dear Leader Obama. (The MSM is pretty silent on the similar restriction he imposed on Cuban immigrants, shortly before he left office.)

It's nice that many immigrants have found, and will continue to find, a new home in the USA. But deciding who gets in and who doesn't should ALWAYS have the best interests of the already-here people as the #1 priority. We shouldn't swing the doors open to any and all. (Duh!) Personally, I'd like to see an influx of Christians - they are among the most persecuted of all, in Christian-unfriendly countries.

My 2 cents.

I believe that the term you were looking for is "wreaking", not wrecking.

Re: “Photos: Compare the Crowds at D.C. Women's March and Trump's Inauguration

Trump has been spoiled since he was born. He does not except rejection well at all. He has to be the winner no matter what, and he has his tantrums if is the slightest lean toward the other way, in someone else's favor. He has to win or he will take all his marbles and go home. He has been rich for so long that he really is out of touch with the real world as the rest of us know it. He does not know how to express himself. He is used to being told that he is a winner, but has never been told that he will lose too sometimes and he will have to roll with punches too, He is not graceful about anything.

Re: “Photos: Compare the Crowds at D.C. Women's March and Trump's Inauguration

The images are Date Stamped but not time stamped. Seriously?
Why cannot people by more transparent with their partisanship?

"The Trump administration incorrectly told reporters on Saturday that 1.5 million attended the inauguration" - since there is no count, how is it incorrect?

Liberal media at it again. Who is responsible for this article?

Re: “One Person, One Vote? Electoral College Will Choose Next U.S. President Monday

It's unfortunate they stopped teaching schoolchildren Civics. The Electoral College is 130 years old. When a person loses a game of chess. As in Checkmate! The loser shouldn't whine that they had more pieces left of the board.
In every presidential election there is a winner and a loser. The Party of the candidate who lost should accept it, and learn some lessons before the next time in four years.

Re: “Trump is Centerpiece of Feisty GOP Debate

The questioning NEVER dealt with any substance. Forget about the social issues, how about one single question about the future direction of the economy? Not a single political candidate who is of that professional class would deliver any possible change. Obama has proven that Democrat or Republican, it really does not matter. Obama has been Bush Part II. Nothing ever changes.

I did listen to Trump being interviewed on the telephone on Bloomberg News. I must say, he expressed opinions on who was the better Fed Chairman that others would be hard to remember any names from the past. When the economy turns down, we may see support for Trump rise rather than fall.

Re: “Trump is Centerpiece of Feisty GOP Debate

The bias of FOX News is really starting to show how they are attempting to influence the elections by destroying Donald Trump claiming he is against women. I think the attack is really exaggerated for he may say some wild things but is he really against women? I would say the evidence does not support that. Nonetheless, FOX News is showing this is going to be a really nasty campaign when they are taking on the lead in the political debates to try to deliberately stack the cards against Trump so we end up with Bush. This illustrates that they are not listening to the people or why the vast majority are in favor of Trump. A friend who is a die-hard Democrat said to me after the debate, “You know, I may just vote for Trump. Nobody owns this guy!” To say I was stunned is saying it mildly. This 2016 election is going to be really interesting for it appears this may develop as a war against the establishment and just another wasted 8 years by electing any professional politician since nothing will change.

Re: “What's the Matter With Idaho?

Have the uninformed commie socialist supporters of Obama wised up to the fact that voting him to a 2nd term was a BIG MISTAKE yet??? Trying to recover from Obama's first recessive term has taken longer and longer than any previous recession. About time that he owns up to the results of his policies. Now that it is 2015 we can see a little progress in the Senate. Can you believe that "Lying Harry Reid" held up almost 400 legislative bills passed by the House for fear that they would be debated, amended and passed. Then the worst President in history would take the heat for vetoing them!!!!

Wouldn't it have been fantastic that a few wise dems would have joined the Republicans/TeaParty folks and overridden Obama's veto?? Be nice if the lower/lazy/ignorant 50% of citizens would become taxpayers and get some skin in the game. Why redistribute income so everybody is equally poor? Dumb--real dumb!

Re: “Amtrak's Empire Builder (Which Runs Through Idaho's Panhandle) Is Anything But

This story also missed the fact that our own Representative Mike Simpson took the opportunity of the recent Philadelphia Amtrak derailment to gratuitously pound on Amtrak in the House Appropriations Committee, when a more thoughtful response would have been to figure out how we can imaginatively restore rail service from Boise to the coast and make it pay through a combination of private, state, and Federal money and passenger fares.

I just think a growing city whose only basic means of transportation is the single-passenger auto is not destined to become a great city. And I'd just like our Boise Depot to serve a real purpose once again -- the one it was intended to have -- instead of just being a press conference backdrop for former Senator Larry Craig's denial of his "restroom enthusiasm" in Minneapolis.

Re: “Amtrak's Empire Builder (Which Runs Through Idaho's Panhandle) Is Anything But

Meanwhile, Amtrak progressively expands up the coast of Maine (it used to end in Boston, was intelligently extended to Portland where it goes intermodal with buses and the airport, now has advanced up the coast to Belfast). Amtrak adds seasonal service to Cape Cod and competes favorably with gridlock-choked roads in the summertime. The State of New Mexico and private business offer "Railrunner" service between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, for both tourists and state government employees who work in the state capital but can't afford to live there and now commute by rail.

It's long been a Republican ploy to use Amtrak as a political whipping boy, all the while ignoring the vast Federal subsidies that support the Interstate highway system and municipal airports across the country. We've done a great job in this country turning our back on a once-great passenger rail system.

In Boise, we still have a depot and the rails and easements west to Portland and Seattle, yet no one has yet put together a plan to diversify our state's transportation system. A real lack of political will and foresight. I guess we just prefer traffic-choked I-84 and lonely, 10-hour drives to the coast. Pity.

Re: “Amtrak's Empire Builder (Which Runs Through Idaho's Panhandle) Is Anything But

You don’t have to seek further than the USA’s sub-soviet-quality passenger railroad system to see that the US is striving to become the Bulgaria of the western hemisphere.

The Hudson River Amtrak train between Albany and New York may have the highest ridership in the country, but it’s still a Third World experience.

Even if Americans seem to prefer for the present moment to drive or fly, it may not always be the case that they will be able to.

Several surprising forces are gathering to take down the Happy Motoring matrix.

Peak oil is actually not playing out in the form of too-high gasoline prices, but rather a race between a bankrupt middle class unable to pay the total costs of motoring and an oil industry that can’t make a profit drilling for hard-to-get oil. That scenario is plain to see in the rapid rise and now fall of shale oil.

America is going to need trains more than it thinks right now, despite what the “free market” says.

The condition of our trains is symptomatic of the shape of the nation.

Mired in debt with disintegrating infrastructure.

Apparently we’d rather just turn into the walking dead.

Re: “First Memorial Day Without Ground War in 14 Years

Memorial Day commemorates soldiers killed in war.

We are told that the war dead died for us and our freedom. US Marine General Smedley Butler challenged this view. He said that our soldiers died for the profits of the bankers, Wall Street, Standard Oil, and the United Fruit Company.

Here is an excerpt from a speech that he gave in 1933:

“War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses."

"The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag."

"Most American soldiers died fighting foes who posed no threat to the United States. Our soldiers died for secret agendas of which they knew nothing. Capitalists hid their self-interests behind the flag, and our boys died for the One Percent’s bottom line.”

And so it still goes……...

Re: “Boston Bomber Tsarnaev Sentenced to Death

The statement made by Obama appointed Carmen Ortiz that Tsarnaev was NOT acting on behalf of Islam is outrageous and more P.C. Obama-speak that has permeated his administration and the lap-dog U.S. media at large. Tsarnaev stated he WAS acting on behalf and representing of Islam. Did The Clinton administration say that Timothy Mcveigh WAS NOT acting on behalf of and representing Christians when was found guilty for the Oklahoma City bombings? Every time violence happens at the hands of Muslim's our government (Obama administration) rushes in to say it doesn't represent Islam. Pathetic and moreover, dangerous for the American people.

Re: “Boston Bomber Tsarnaev Sentenced to Death

Can you say patsy?

There are so many holes in the ‘official’ story that it’s clear it’s a hoax, just like Sandy Hook.

What’s particularly incredible is that the public watches crisis actors perform in movies all the time, but they can’t spot them in a supposed ‘real’ event.

Take a look at some of the analysis below making it clear that the event was faked using crisis actor amputees, Hollywood blood, smoke bombs, etc:

Dig and you'll find much more.

So who could have benefited by staging this phony crisis?
