Re: “U.S. Supreme Court to Decide If States Can Ban Gay Marriage

20The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?" 21Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 22But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.… Matthew 19:20-22

When Christians start doing the above and not judging others, then I will listen.

Re: “Uber Loses Bid to Withhold CEO Emails in Gratuity Lawsuit

I strongly encourage people to use our local taxi system. Refugees that have come from war torn countries depend on those jobs to subsist in this city - I don't mean thrive, I mean get by. These are already low paying jobs for people that do not have the education nor the skills to do much else. Please support their work. We are all Boise and our strength is in looking out for one another.

Re: “Obama Vows Response to North Korea Over Sony Attack

The best possible response to this attempted censorship by the NK regime would for The Interview to be broadcast on PBS for all of America to watch in prime time on Christmas day. The American public should not be denied a good laugh on Christmas!

Re: “Phil Klay and Evan Osnos Win Top National Book Awards

“Redeployment” was given the National Book Award for Fiction as a charity award recognition. Klay’s writing is mostly average; his writing is just not at the level of Mrs. Robinson’s (one of the award finalists), for instance. The liberal judges saw it as an opportunity to justify their liberal point-of-view regarding the recent wars. It was chosen as a finalist and it eventually won because it “stuck out like a sore thumb” — a work about the recent wars written by an actual veteran of that very recent wars. Really not much imagination and creativity required from Klay’s part. The work states what the public already knows–the work is not saying or revealing anything new.

Furthermore, perhaps the fact that others “want to know” what happened “over there” is a factor to it being selected as the winner, and hence to give it a bigger audience.–Klay and his publishing team knew exactly how to exploit and capitalize on his and other servicemembers’ experience. “Redeployment”is just not a good piece of literary work, nor is it intellectually written. Let’s not forget that awards are also used to advance politics, i.e, liberal perspective(s); therefore, it does not mean that just because a work is recognized, that it’s a great piece of work. To compare it to “The Things They Carried” is an extreme exaggeration and is very disrespectful to Tim O'Brien. All the hype about “Redeployment” is a sham.

Re: “Lammily Doll, the 'Anti-Barbie' Goes On Sale in U.S.

I really WANTED to support Lammily. I think the intentions behind it are great. However, I had a horrible experience with them. I ordered one of these over a month ago and still have not received it. The tracking number the company gave me does not work, and I was told it would take 3-5 business days. Customer service was no help at all and offered no sort of apology/appeasement for the lost doll (partial refund, discount on future purchase, etc.). I would strongly advise against purchasing anything from Lammily.

Re: “Thousands Expected at Saturday Protests of Police Killings

These so called "protesters" are nothing more than pathetic delinquents who are a drain on society.

The treatment police officers get from these guys, liberals, the media, and academia in this country is sickening. Who would want to be a police officer now after the hatchet job the liberal media, Obama, Holder, Sharpton, and now Georgetown University are doing to them?

Can we move on and stop wasting our energy on this Ferguson/Garner drama? While the media focuses on this non-sense, the US economy is burning. Many of our citizens have had their jobs taken away along with their health insurance. The middle class is shrinking and its not getting any better.

Obama has destroyed our economy. Everyone is under-employed and can’t afford to live. We must now purchase health insurance we cannot afford and do not want or need (mine is $450/month… contrast this to my $25/month auto insurance from Insurance Panda… or my $12/month renters insurance from Gotham… both private-enterprise!)

When we elected President Obama, weren’t we promised “hope and change”?

Officer Wilson did his job. The criminal (Michael Brown) defiantly disregarded the law and orders in a physical confrontation. I’m sorry he had to die, but he should have realized the risk involved with attacking a police officer after committing a robbery!

Respect your officers, America! These protesters are not innocents demanding justice but lawless boneheads looking for a night out of fun at someone else's expense.

Re: “Jury Selection Begins in Montana Killing of German Teen

I doesn't matter if the guy was 17 or 77. He was a criminal in the making & died for his actions. Justifiable Homicide. Case Closed!

Re: “Starbucks Eyes Booze, Food, Technology to Boost U.S. Growth

Give Starbucks your tired, poor, hungry, huddled masses and trickle down a little Coffee, Booze, Snacks and Free internet and, voila! a booming economy! Its Magic! Notice the uncanny resemblance of the Starbucks Logo as an updated version of the Statute of Liberty?

Re: “U.S. Declines to Upgrade Protections for Grizzlies in Idaho, Montana

What the hell is wrong with the U.S. Fish and Game when their published report states an annual decline in 0.8% does that compute to being stable. There is something seriously wrong with their handling of this situation!

Re: “U.S. Declines to Upgrade Protections for Grizzlies in Idaho, Montana

The US Fish and Game has failed the Grizzlies again. No surprise, they are all a group of hunters and trappers with bear fur rugs in their bathrooms and animal heads in their Kitchen. This wil take a lot of work from activists.

Re: “Rolling Stone Backtracks on Virginia College Rape Story

Why wasn't this treated as a law enforcement case from the beginning, instead of as fodder for yellow journalism? If what this young woman claimed is true, the perps should be in prison.

Re: “Rolling Stone Backtracks on Virginia College Rape Story

"What victim will now want to come forward, and at what cost?"

The Rolling Stone decision does not have a chilling effect on truthful victims coming forward. It has a chilling effect on untruthful victims exploiting the very real problem of sexual assault for their own ends (fame, money, attention, etc.) This casts a cloud of doubt over all sexual assault cases, to the detriment of the real victims.

An accusation of sexual assault can destroy someone's life. It's not an accusation that should be made or taken lightly.

Making sure the facts are straight and questioning inconsistencies is responsible investigative work, whether you're the police or a journalist.

Any exculpatory evidence should be explored. Innocent until proven guilty.

Re: “Lammily Doll, the 'Anti-Barbie' Goes On Sale in U.S.

I don't care anything about what's normal or not normal. I just thought she was pretty and I loved her clothes. I bought one for my granddaughter and I'm sure she is going to love her. Take care.

Re: “Black Friday Crowds Dwindle

This headline made me very happy to hear. Hopefully we can do away with Black Thur/Fri soon, and give workers the vacation days they deserve.

The point is that people (girls) come in all shapes and sizes. I'm thrilled to see a little (more realistic) variety on the market!

Re: “Yakima, Wash. Cancels Cosby Appearance

His strategy of manipulation and attempting to shift blame and shame the other person, throwing his weight around, is eerily reminiscent of what was described in the rape allegations..

If you obey the law...NO...If you riot and do the damage that ferguson people did last night...yes. And to each answer...rightfully so.

Re: “Lammily Doll, the 'Anti-Barbie' Goes On Sale in U.S.

I don't think this doll will be successful. She does not have to have the exaggerated proportions of Barbie but she does not have to look over weight either. Slim her down a little and put her in tee shirt and jeans and she might sell better.
