Re: “Some Truther Truth

A "truther" is interested in forensic evidence. A "liar" promotes beliefs.

Re: “Some Truther Truth

At any time before 911 (and any time since) have you ever seen any building fall into its own footprint?(...aside from a controlled demolition.) Has anyone ever been able to squeeze a jumbo jet thru a 16' hole in a wall? Has there ever been a passenger jet (thin walled hollow aluminum body) that knifed itself into the ground leaving no visible debris? The scariest part of 911 is that people are not asking questions about the most obvious facts , they blindly accept the mainstream medias reports as truth. Anyone with a spec of intelligence or common sense would instantly realize any of the official explanations for these events are not possible. The answers about 'why' they would do this are speculative, but the denial of the actual physics of the events themselves? And to top it all off, labeling those seeking valid explantions as "truthers", somehow implying that is a bad thing? When did the truth become something to fear?

Re: “Some Truther Truth

Not the government government, players connected to the players inside the government and outside on the perimeter. Think Connecticut and people from that linkage ie; your Bushes your Lieberman's hmmmm why would two independent politicians be given such a sensitive portfolio like Homeland Security. How could they possibly have such a important mandate like the Patriot Act up their collective sleeves ready to put in place all by their little lonesome's hmmmm just saying hmmmm...

Thanks for validating my take on this. I have written extensively about it on the Metapolitik Blog, which can be found here:

Re: “Powerless No More

"Knowing what you know now, a vote for Obama in 2012 would be a vote for torture, extrajudicial assassinations, drone attacks, corporate health care, doing nothing about jobs and staying in Iraq. A liberal who votes for Obama would be directly responsible for the torture, killings and suicides of the desperately unemployed."

Are you insane? I don't know what you want me to know. In fact, there's nothing to know. It's bullshit; this is a string of phrases designed to sway the emotion of people that are abhorred by these things. There are people on your intellectual level that will believe as you do, that they know what you know, but it's just empty. Back your rhetoric up and demonstrate what you know. EG: Obama is a torturer. Show your work. I know enough to realize where you'd embark from with that, but you will have made a great leap, bypassing all context, to draw that kind of conclusion. If someone has a more nuanced view than your supposed Uber Liberal take on national security - such as the use of drones - they aren't really a 'liberal'. We get the construction: 'all liberals are utter pacifists and pure isolationists' out of that. The fallacy of the excluded middle here is of precisely the same quality as GW Bush: 'you're either with us or for the terr'ists'

"We would have gone along with anything he asked for, including a new WPA program and permanent jobless benefits." Who is this magical "we"? Here's a heads-up: there is an actual process and procedures in governance; at the federal level there are three branches. Legislation is not by executive decree. This was known to me at ten years of age, fourth grade civics class. You are signaling to us that you do not have this information with this idiotic kind of statement. You either think Obama is a dictator, has magical powers, or that he will have encountered utterly no resistance from the GOP and the bluedogs on the D side of any kind. And don't try and fly this majority crap, we never had a supermajority given the bluedogs.

Ironically, we are looking at a jobs bill that has the kind of infrastructure spending, but it's time for you to post this garbage. "A liberal who votes for Obama would be directly responsible for the torture, killings and suicides of the desperately unemployed." First, look up the word 'directly'. You are confounding your position re: torture with unemployment. This is the work of an insane person, or someone that's willfully distorting behind an agenda. At a time we're looking at a strong jobs act, you really show your ass with this absurdity. You're no one I can trust to tell the truth about a thing.

I guess it gets you clicks and income? Maybe you are paid by Koch? Or, you're just someone with a pathology driving you.

Re: “Powerless No More

(less *than* purist...)

"Refusing to vote for Obama answers their question: If you don't stop taking us for granted, we will take our votes elsewhere--whether to the Republicans, a third party, or limbo, boycotting the process altogether."

This is the idea of a petulant child. This is at the heart of your 'case'. You are actually advocating voting for the right wing, anybody but Obama, behind your warped logic. Behind what you must tell yourself is a principled stand. No. It's someone that is easily swayed by rhetoric and seeks to follow that line of work. It's easier than paying attention to reality, it's certainly easier to do than following any nuance or complexities, and it's far easier than constructing a cogent argument. Just throw in the right triggers, 'corporate health care', and the other child-like 'liberals' will respond in the correct Pavlovian manner.

"This two party trap", for instance. That's the reality. That's the parameters within we function. Saying it's a trap doesn't sort it any differently than it is sorted. Deciding participation is foolish doesn't change a damned thing, it just show that you desire a quick fix, and if you do not get it, you'll stamp your feet and refuse to play any more.

You could not BE less substantial than you are here.

Re: “Powerless No More

you're pathetic. I hardly know where to begin this is so flagrantly stupid; straw man after straw man, which a person that can make a reasonable argument does not need. worse, you claim 'mathematics' in 'your vote is purely symbolic'. So, we should trust you telling us 1 = 0. All the ones will only ever add up to zero. Your vote has no meaning. Oh, now I've seen the light: Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

You are the ideological terrorist here. You have a definition of liberal that I do not share.

Voting for the man that just made my health care benefits more affordable is a vote for 'corporate health care'. Oh, right, we never had that before! Obama invented private insurance. Thanks for clearing that us for us idiots. No, you have these little buzz phrases that are not better quality than a teabaggers, oooh veddy skeddy, 'corporate __'

In conclusion, let's let evil reign rather than accept less that purist ideological perfection. Then we can blame anyone but ourselves.

You are perfectly vacuous. Stick to drawing badly, you hack.

I agree one million percent. We lost lives but we gained a holiday. Nothing has changed for the millions of American lives that still remain.

Re: “American Dogs Over Afghan People

Beyonce is pregnant! I watched Brian Williams NBC News and not a word was uttered regarding the War in Iraq or Afghanistan. Rather than disturb us with this kind of
reporting, he presented a piece at the end of his broadcast that Beyonce is pregnant.....

Re: “Sexual Freedom

bikeboy, you're hilarious.

Davefsasadf, you're hilarious too, but for different reasons. I love how you attack bikeboy for his condemnation of gays ... oh, wait, he never said anything about homosexuality. Perhaps you assumed that because he made reference to the Bible and to adultery that surely he meant to make reference to homosexuality as well. Way to defend your position against a false assumption! Flaunt you opinion; that's fine, but at least show that you've taken the time to read somebody else's opinion first.

Re: “Boycott 2012 Election

For ONCE I agree with you Ted. LIBERALS STAY HOME. Give America a chance to heal, rebuild, pull back from economic and social DISASTER which is the Obama Presidency. With sound "Conservative" policies (NOT George Bush like) America WILL regain it's footing and prosper again.

Keep pounding the message home Ted: LIBERALS STAY HOME!!! Go to your book signings, your lectures, your garden wine parties, your Saul Alinsky appreciation day, your Land Rover new model car shows...just STAY OUT of the political process. You have all done ENOUGH!!!

Re: “Brave New Book

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen. Left has always dreamed of effective and compassionate central planning, to provide provisions and remove risk from the lives of it's subjects. It always slips into totalitarianism.

Obama is a man of the left. For this reason, he will not be able to put the country on the right fiscal path. To do so would require him to reject his failed world view, ideology and eventually himself. This is not emotionally possible. So, he will fall back to the same mantra... tax and spend.

The republicans ran off the spending rails. But, they can correct their behavior without sacrificing their principles of a smaller government. Realizing that on net, people will be better off making their own decisions. The republicans fell into the "moderate" trap which really means be more like Dems. This is changing.

Re: “Brave New Book

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
This was written by Franklin, with quotation marks but almost certainly his original thought, sometime shortly before February 17, 1775 as part of his notes for a proposition at the Pennsylvania Assembly, as published in Memoirs of the life and writings of Benjamin Franklin (1818).
