Re: “Boise 'Made Better' By Its Newest Citizens

Because the native population is stale and detracts from the community???

You might want to rethink your selling points.

Re: “Battle at the Ballot Box

Thank you Zach. A lot of people worked very hard to elect good trustees. They will do right by "our kids" and they will represent us well. Taxes are necessary to properly run our schools, libraries, hospitals, and to govern.

It's nice to see the sane people of North Idaho get off their butts and stand up against the insanity of these interlopers. Good job Zach!

Re: “Greater Boise Auditorium District Election May Be Its Most Critical

Thank you very much. I am puzzled, and will continue to pay attention.

Why puzzled?

"Muchow has mobilized a full-on campaign effort: mailers, door-to-door canvassing, yard signs, fundraisers, speaking engagements, and she even hired a campaign consultant and manager."

Answers to your three questions:
1. $5.00/month ($60/year).
2. No.
3. Independent auditor.

Re: “Greater Boise Auditorium District Election May Be Its Most Critical

I have been asking these questions for 5 years:

1. How much are GBAD directors paid?
2. Are GBAD directors allowed to participate in PERSI?
3. Who is responsible for auditing the books at GBAD?

We can not know how to determine GBAD performance without this information.

Re: “Climate Strange: Idaho's Tug of War on Climate Change

People, why is this even a debate. Solar electricity with lithium batteries is more reliable and now cheaper over 20 years than fuel based power. period. There are no moving parts or fluids to manage and the LiFePO4 batteries are stable unlike gasoline that turns to tar after 6 months, toxic to breathe or drink and explosive. And before you look ignorant, look up the specific lithium battery I mentioned. It is NOT like the other chemistries, even lead acid or AGM which IS STILL a giant box of LEAD is prone to fails, a neuro toxin and has acid. LiFePO4 could be spread out on your lawn as fertilizer it is so safe. Get real, electricity SPINS things by its nature. How long has your cheep bathroom fan lasted!?! Every building in the US has electricity, drive on it. Use oil for plastic chairs and nice jackets, etc. Get 50 years use instead of 10 minutes out of that gallon. But the biggest reason= oil comes from 'somewhere else' and you must IMPORT it. Once you own a battery that lasts 10+ years you make your own power LOCALLY. duh...

Re: “What Constitutes a 'Clean, Sober and Safe' House in Idaho?

I find it funny that everyone is touting about the profiteering side but nobody can explain it. I believe in following the money.

Copious and $20 are you not answering because you yourselves don't understand.

Re: “What Constitutes a 'Clean, Sober and Safe' House in Idaho?

To $20 Minimum,

I liked your response attacking one another is not the answer. I think everyone has valid points. With Copious Disrespect I felt stereotyped. I believe he even has valid concerns. I was on the side of a man who lived in these houses and it really helped.

I also don't understand the profiting side. What I went through I was amazed how much control Ascent had over my care. For those who don't know Ascent is the therapy part of the program. They seem to control everything. I have lost my housing and just lost my medications.

Can anyone explain if or how this all works together. I don't understand the profiting side?

I think this really deserves a conversation. I also apologize if I offended anyone in my posts. I have been living in my car and was just a little emotional. I would like to understand Copious & 20 dollar side a little more?

Re: “Fightin' Words

In Boise you have even more Christian Republican Nazis and white supremacists so it's not surprising that Americans don't rise up and kick them in their Nazi faces like they do in normal cities. No offense.

Re: “What Constitutes a 'Clean, Sober and Safe' House in Idaho?

Milt, You also overlooked several of my accurate points about how the scumbag profiteers are crapping on good neighborhoods with these houses. Probably because you agree with my description. We need to change the laws to prevent this random chance possibility of having one of these dropped on a valuable quality neighborhood. It makes owning a home risky. The math on the smokes is about right. I have no idea how they get insurance for these houses -- insurance company probably not told the truth.

I'm a she, drive a commercial truck and Uber, I voted for Obama twice. Regret it both times because of stupid crap like this he did. I know all about these houses and who lives in them and who profits. It's wrong.

Re: “What Constitutes a 'Clean, Sober and Safe' House in Idaho?

Continuation and response to the brilliant Copious Disrespect

Your comment about smoking $200 dollars in cigarettes a week. Wow that a lot of cigarettes. That's like $800 /month $9600 / Annually. You seem like a brilliant man so I won't question where you got your data. I am sure it was from a non biased sample group and an accredited academic institution. With a peer review evaluation on your statistics of $200 week. If the normal distribution was $200 week on cigarettes can you enlighten me with the standard deviation.

You dump them in good neighborhoods for the residents to babysit. Huh the whole time I was at the house I never had a resident babysit me. Can you explain how this works do the residents volunteer are they paid hourly. When I was growing up I always had a huge crush on my babysitter. If the community offers this service can I request a cute lady in her 30s. Huh this whole time I never new the community offered this amazing service.

You seem so well informed and so educated how can I help you on this courageous campaign you so desire.. Please bring more issues to my attention

Re: “What Constitutes a 'Clean, Sober and Safe' House in Idaho?

This message is for copious disrespect.
Read his comment above before reading this.

The SHIP housing program I stayed at was a great experience.

Your excessive noise and late night activity comment. At our house a strict 9 pm cerfew is enforced.

Your comment about delapitated cars. Most of them are so down and out they don't own cars. They rely heavily on the bus system.

Your comment about drinking and drugging all the time. At our SHIP house we took sobriety very seriously. We held each other to great standards.

Re: “What Constitutes a 'Clean, Sober and Safe' House in Idaho?

I think this article hit some great points. Not everyone is homeless for the same reason. These environments face so many different situations. Some are transitioning from the criminal system. Some face mental illness. Some are very young and have no support system. Some are very old and have no support system. Whatever the case individuals automatically jump to the conclusion you're a criminal. When your in the system your treated like a criminal. I understand when you are duly convicted of a crime you lose many of your civil liberties.

If I could point at that many of these people are not criminals. I really admire what Brandt is doing. He is serving a niche in a community that needs hope. So many times addiction and recovery play of the vulnerabilities of families. Most of the time these houses offer management with little to no training in recovery. To be a certified drug and alcohol counselor in the state of Idaho does not even require a high school diploma.
