Re: “Converting 5th and 6th Streets From One-Way to Two-Way? No Way

I'm one of the people who opposed the conversion to two way. Why? Because thus far the street conversions from one way to two way have been a disaster for traffic flow. That coupled with all the construction downtown makes driving at any time of day, and riding a bike, even more dangerous with all the start and stop traffic and folks backed up multiple blocks. If there was a way to avoid ALL left turns on streets except from one way to one way, I'd be in favor of it. ACHD needs to look at the entirety of downtown and major connectors and come up with a traffic flow pattern that is smoother and safer for vehicles, bikes and pedestrians. If there is more to the picture, then the entire picture needs to be presented to the public, media and everyone else. If they can improve traffic flow with conversions to two way streets again, I'd support it. But thus far I'm not convinced. Jefferson Street conversion in front of the Capitol two way is terrible.

Re: “Converting 5th and 6th Streets From One-Way to Two-Way? No Way

As was mentioned by myself and Clay Carley, about two thirds of the story wasn't told. Until much more of the story sees the light of day and in context with the rest of the City's plan for Boise traffic this is where things will stand.

Re: “Converting 5th and 6th Streets From One-Way to Two-Way? No Way

I think that 5th & 6th converted to 2 Way traffic would be great. For the most part keeping 7th & 9th and also Myrtle & Front at One Way would be great, especially Myrtle & Front since they are for the connector.
Other roads in town being 2 way would be nice.

Re: “Converting 5th and 6th Streets From One-Way to Two-Way? No Way

It has been said but I will reinforce the sentiment "the mind-numbing one way streets in Boise!
It is no wonder that fewer and fewer people want to go downtown in Boise because of the one way
streets that can send you in circles trying to find a place to park. How can a city remain viable under
these conditions and it is no surprise shops have closed and moved out to Meridien.

Please reconsider changing the one way streets to two way. What purpose can it possible serve to
have one way streets - uhhh maybe traffic moves faster like at 500pm and the rest of the time we
have to drive around like squirrels in a cage. Crazy system. Unproductive.

Re: “Cold, Windy, Wet: Treasure Valley Forecast Calls for Freezing Rain And a Lot More Snow

We need to be very careful when we get any warnings for hurricanes and storms. These natural calamities come all of a sudden and causes a wide damage to the property. I read about people's views about the ways that they have adopted to keep their property safe. They say that they have chosen hurricane windows Miami from http://stormguardwindowanddoor.com/standard-vs-impact-windows/. They prefer Impact Windows than normal windows and doors to keep their house safe. We need to take every possible step to secure our property.

Re: “Idaho Power Residential Customers Will See Rate Increases, Effective Today

That excess power that private solar generators provide can be used directly next door. Solar power on peoples homes populates the grid with power which lessens the amount of loss in the transmission of the power coming from far away plants. It is given to Idaho Power at the exact moment it is produced. Instead of Idaho Power having to build a Multi Million dollar power plant and extend those costs to Rate Payers solar investors are instead taking the hit in there own wallets to ensure clean power is delivered to their home. Idaho Power can sell the excess power they produce to another customer. One to one credit because Idaho Power then uses the power and resales it and they are therefore getting reimbursed for the power.

Re: “Idaho Lawmakers Condemn Anne Frank Memorial Vandalism

This sounds like a false flag by Jews trying to get sympathy and free shekels for a monument they neglected to upkeep. Remember the 18 year old Israeli kid making bomb threats who was certainly a white racist Trump supporter?

Re: “St. Luke's Begins Massive Expansion

Let's not forget the Romans - their slaves had healthcare, and homes, and education for their children...but in the end, they were all slaves to the masters.

We have been slaves since the USD was taken off the gold standard. Or since the FED was created to regulate value....your call.

Re: “Solarizing the Treasure Valley, One Roof At a Time

This is such a nice warm fuzzy feelgood story. Those very expensive tax credits are paid for by all of us. It is actually not even near break even points under 60 years without generous welfare subsidies.

Then the typical ignorant attitude: "Idahos energy is already fifty percent from hydroelectric, said Snake River Alliance Executive Director Wendy Wilson. If Idaho replaces coal and natural gas with wind and solar power, we could be 100% green. Its not so far-fetched.

Hydro, wind and solar have one common characteristic. They are all sporadically available. Snake River flows are a trickle in winter. There would NO POWER on a calm Christmas Eve. Realism watch to Wendy Wilson....so nice you have that job. Maybe next you can be a rodeo director even though you do not know what a saddle is.

Re: “St. Luke's Begins Massive Expansion

This expansion should give us pause to contemplate the overall state of American health care and where it is headed in the future. Current health care expenditures exceeds $2.6T. We have tremendous resources, not so good allocation. I still see the President of the Pittsburgh Hospital struggling to justify his $2+M/year salary. The current increase in cost of health care and health care insurance is simply unsustainable, unless we are willing to accept a new form of feudalism where most of us become serfs to the medical community. We need an honest discussion of costs and income associated with a system that is a monopoly pure and simple.

Re: “Solarizing the Treasure Valley, One Roof At a Time

Buyer beware. Some panels being installed are old technology. Also sometimes people are raped by installation costs. Look into the new products from Tesla. Just in time for Mayor Bieter to fly F-35s over her roof too. Super!

Re: “UPDATE: Boise 4th of July Fireworks Show Moved to Expo Idaho

The 4th should not be for politics but for the community in its entirety. I am sure that safety is the main concern for this group and centralization so that all may enjoy the celebrations of our countries birthday!

Re: “Boise Police Investigating Burning of Gay Pride Flag

As an American and a member of the GLBTQIA community, if you burn either flag at a protest rally I would be offended at the disrespect for the symbolic meaning of the flags. Even though it is " Free Speach". However, to do so after trespassing on private property is a assault on the persons flying the flag.

Burn a gay pride flag, your going to hang!
