Re: “Birth, Death and Rock: Red Hands Black Feet, Oso Negro and R.E.M.

I absolutely LOVE the new Trans Atlantic Crush cd. Brings back memories of the past and matches/surpasses the quality of the present. I feel it will endure into the future. Everyone should buy a copy.

Re: “Get a Juggaload of This

The group's religious status was stated quite clearly in the lyrics from their song, Thy Unveiling: "Truth is we follow GOD, we`ve always been behind him, The Carnival is God and may all Juggalos find him!"

But ICP have also performed interviews on the subject with numerous publications, including for this piece in The Guardian, in which they are quite clear that they are evangelical Christians.

Re: “Get a Juggaload of This

Dude, seriously. They have stated numerous times they are not "christian". Quit lying to the readers.

Re: “Guitars and more guitars: Paul Grove and Workin' on Fire (but not together)

I'll bet that's true of many of our community's performing guitarists-- some background in classical guitar somewhere along the way (whether they liked it or not ;-).
Yes, Johann Helton is still on staff at BSU as adjunct faculty. He's a wonderful instructor and excellent musician, and I'm sure he will do what he can there. But we won't very likely have the resources we used to from BSU without at least two of us there to dig for them.

Re: “Guitars and more guitars: Paul Grove and Workin' on Fire (but not together)

Great point on classical guitar. Workin' On Fire's guitarist was classically trained by BSU adjunct Prof Johann Helton.

Re: “Benefit for Gina Gregerson, DBA's Sticky Situation

It's understandable to let the public be aware that the utility companies need to "service the poles", but does everything need a citation? Instead of citations, maybe the DBA could spring for some modern bulletin boards placed around the city. It's not like their events don't generate a lot of trash. Take for example Alive After Five with all of the crap brought to the landfill on those days.

Re: “Crazy Week of Shows

You forgot one more: Ellen Whyte, a multi-award winning Portland blues singer/songwriter will be at Pengilly's with her band consisting of keyboardist Glenn Holstrom and former Boisean Pete Petersen on sax. Ellen's most recent CD "Four Way Stop" was a first-round Grammy nominee for "Best Contemporary Blues album" in 2009, and songs from the album have also been named finalists in the International Songwriting Competition.

Re: “Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em, But Go Outside; Four Brits=One Eskimo; Cazbopa

We (my Wife and I) used to play music there, socialize, and enjoy ourselves. The smoke was so bad, we would have to wash our backpacks, gloves, hats etc. the next morning. Not to mention it would make us sick. Upon hearing this news, we will both be returning to our beloved hang out to spent our money, enjoy some tunes, and talk with some pleasant Boise citizens.
