Re: “Boise Bowling Alley 20th Century Lanes to Close After 57 Years on State Street

A skating business, much like a bowling alley depends much on neighborhood demographics and that neighborhood is not getting any younger. I doubt that a skating rink will last 57 years but business is business and getting the most out of your investment is the right thing for the landlord to do. Just keep churning the property and get the most that you can out of entrepreneurs with big dreams and a healthy down payment.

"to put it plain and simple, a womans most basic and personal of decisions, to have a child, could now be impacted by her boss.

And these are often the same bosses that pay women less and refuse to hire or promote women because they might get pregnant.

Re: “Curbside Compost Bins Rolling Toward Boise Households

People had the opportunity to opt out, but the vast majority stayed with it,

The problem with "opt out" program is that they artificially inflate participation. An "opt in" program would be a better indicator of interest in the program.

The advantage of the "opt out" program is that it becomes a reality when many are faced with the options in their own homes and have to make a choice.

Re: “Battle at the Ballot Box

Thank you Zach. A lot of people worked very hard to elect good trustees. They will do right by "our kids" and they will represent us well. Taxes are necessary to properly run our schools, libraries, hospitals, and to govern.

Re: “Battle at the Ballot Box

It's nice to see the sane people of North Idaho get off their butts and stand up against the insanity of these interlopers. Good job Zach!

Out of State interests rolling over a local landmark. I won't be going there and I will advocate that no one else does either.

Re: “Idaho Power Residential Customers Will See Rate Increases, Effective Today

Last time I checked even Idaho Power employees have to pay a power bill, including the CEO. It's got nothing to do with corporate greed or corruption. Demand rises so cost rises. Also, ipco federally has no choice but to buy back excess power from private wind and solar farms. This affects the rates. You're rates are STILL some of the lowest in the country. Educate yourselves.

It's always about the money. They don't care about you or anyone else. Just make sure the Rich get richer. And keep everyone under there thumb and lies to keep them looking good. Sad thing is the so call law of are state is in with them.

Re: “Idaho Power Residential Customers Will See Rate Increases, Effective Today

Low water year....raise the rates.
High water year.....raise the rates.
Conserve as Id Power suggests by buying LED lights and energy efficient appliances.......raise the rates.
Use solar ..... Waa, Waa, Waa......Poor Idaho Power has to buy back any excess power....raise the rates.
Just make sure that no Idaho Power shareholder ever looses money......raise the rates.

PUC needs to get their heads out of their asses and quit allowing these increases.

Idaho has been a bastion for hate groups for decades.
Education is the only cure for ignorance.
Vote out the reprobates like Crapo who continue to keep Idaho poor and ignorant.

Re: “Idaho Power Residential Customers Will See Rate Increases, Effective Today

this is ridiculous. Record snowfall this year and they're going to raise our rates. Quit dumping our water down the river and use it to produce the power this state needs.
