Re: “Best Local Pizza

The attitude conveyed in this description is exactly why this place is totally overrated. The dining area is dirty, most of the customers are foul-mouthed college kids trying to act cool, and finding parking is nearly impossible. Pizza is average with an above average price. If that sounds great to you, enjoy wasting your money here.

Re: “Best Local Seafood

I agree with the above comment. We went to Hook shortly after moving to the Treasure Valley - and after reading BOB Dining. In a work, YUK! Gotta be something better our there.

Re: “Best Way to Start Your Morning

Re: “Our Turn: Best of Boise 2011 Staff Picks

I would like to comment that this apears to be a popularity contest where businesses get all their buddies to vote since the results are outstandingly amazing. Really, Hannifin's? That place doesn't even qualify as a cigar shop. Sturmans is the only one you have on the list that is even what i could consider a real cigar shop?? Hanifins sells playboys and cigaretts. What a joke!

Travesty. Fresh...Hook is on par with fish sticks at the school cafeteria.

Re: “Best Local Patio

I enjoy the Eagle deck at Bardenay. The seared tuna and tasty house gin on a crisp fall day are a real treat.

Well deserved repeat winner. Gino's is a special experience.

Re: “Best Local DJ/Radio Personality

Rick Moorten hosts red carpet events and hangs with Matt Pipkin which is great to promote Commit65 but to say he gives back to the community more than Mike & Kate is just ignorant. And anyway, I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than those 2 Wild101 morning show interns. As long as Rick Moorten has those girls are "co-hosts" to his show, he doesn't deserve Best of Anything.

Re: “Best Reason to Consider Splashguards on the Veggies

I have seen personally a dog marking his spot on a produce venders tablecloth! Thank God that they did not have their produce down low to the ground. I felt so bad for the farmer that had worked so hard to provide us fresh, wonderful produce to have some idiots dog pee on their display while sipping away on their coffee. Not to mention the poor babies in strollers that have to come face to face with the pitbulls....yikes!

Re: “Best Local Blogger

I'm not sure about any of the Sarah O'Dells, but the claim "I did not post this!" hurts my head a little. As does the company you put the obvious hands-down winner for "best local blogger" in. Bored in Boise is some sort of community calendar with graphics on steroids. Gone Feral was a brilliant name, and "turning inward" is the new outward, so w00t for the cutting edge. And Independent Fashion Bloggers, who knew?

Re: “Best Place to Take a Non-Idahoan in Boise

Problem: this doesn't work except for a short period in summer. So I respectfully disagree wi the float. Greenbelt rules.
