Re: “Port of Lewiston's Main Container Shipper Pulls Up Anchor in Portland

My quibble for today: Shouldn't the last line in the article read "down the" rather than "up the." Even though the rivers in question take the products north on the map, Portland is downstream from Lewiston.

Re: “City Under Construction: Mayor Breaks Ground on Another Downtown Development

Gentrification is just the fin above the water. Below is the rest of the shark: a new American economy in which most of us will be poorer, a few will be far richer, and everything will be faster, more homogenous and more controlled or controllable.

Given that the human scaled potential for downtown Boise was eliminated, when the uber-governmental monstrosity that is the capitol building dominated the skyline, it’s inevitable that this sort of faux big-city development would occur once the development parasites began to smell the profits they could siphon off.

The relentless progression to third world economic status, with a tiny minority of economic parasites at the top of an ever-increasing number of poor, has led to the funneling of investment funny-money into this sort of ostentatious project, designed for this tiny minority as the new form of gated community in an urban setting, free from the riff-raff increasingly living in squalor in the suburban and rural wastelands.

As the economy continues to deteriorate, this urban migration of the economic parasites will increase, since they will only feel safe where there is total control of their environment, protecting them from those that they’re using to generate their wealth.

Re: “Education Is Not a Crime... Unless You Are Baha’i

RE: Watchers above comment
Your observations are highly subjective. Have you ever lived in Iran? Have you ever worshipped God in any way? It's good that at least you agree that everyone deserves an education. Is it plausible to lump all religious people into one group? Would you do the same with all atheists? If religion is a hoax who is laughing? Everyone is free to believe in God or not. Perhaps you could look a little deeper. If nothing else the Baha'is are willing to live or die for what they believe. Are your words spoken from your heart? If so, I suppose you are brave to voice them. If not why try to ridicule something you don't understand?

How very special.
Thank you so much for arranging this.
Thank you Mayors de Weerd and Bieter for recognizing this day for us!

Re: “City Under Construction: Mayor Breaks Ground on Another Downtown Development

Mayor Bieter, 26 housing units won't help you much in reaching your goal of 1,000 new units in downtown Boise by 2,020. At the prices given in the article, however, they will go quite some distance towards making Boise's downtown one of the priciest in the country. As it is now, most of the people who work downtown, especially those who provide services to the bars, restaurants, and hotels and those who do the clerical work of state government can't afford to live anywhere near where they work. How about showing us some plans for affordable housing. Ten-foot ceilings are for people with big heads, I guess.

Re: “Cannabis Oil Bill Passes Idaho House Committee

Idaho still teaches "Reefer Madness" and 1970's propaganda in schools and court ordered drug classes! It's not the country folk (most of Idaho is rural), as much as the Mormon presence in that state. Hello IF!! Wake up and vote them out and put anyone in that is not toting church affiliation as a reason to vote for them! Last time I checked mixing church and state is forbidden!!

Re: “Cannabis Oil Bill Passes Idaho House Committee

I have seen what cannabis can do for mankind. I had PTSD and it's gone. I have migraines that were triggered by drugs given to me intraveiniously on October 6th, 1997. My Relpax takes 1 1/2 hours to take effect and in that time I am at the mercy of these horrible migraines. Not anymore. To Elisha Figueroa: why the hell are you repeating those same old transparent lies to those of us who know better? Who cares if Idaho joins the majority of states in defying the federal government on their lies? It's our right constitutionally to defy a tyrannical government and we will. Are you a Christian man? If you say "Yes" that's another lie from you. In the old testament of the Holy Bible there is a plant given to mankind that will supply almost all of his needs. It is Kaneh Bosn which became Kana-besh and eventually cannabis. Bible references also shorten the name to simply Kaneh. It is our human, spiritual, and God given right to have the plant that was given to us by God. Shame on you for being in Butch Otter's pocket and playing golf with federal agents and kissing their butts.

Re: “Cannabis Oil Bill Passes Idaho House Committee

Idahoans need to wake up and realize that the government has been deceiving the people for nearly one hundred years regarding cannabis. Think for yourself, people.

Re: “Video: The Xenophobic Letter From the Bonneville GOP Central Committee

All of this xenophobic attention on Muslims is just distraction from a very familiar and non-foreign group that is far more dangerous than the supposed Muslim menace.

This group has been growing in numbers and control in the US for many decades, increasing its grip on the US government at all levels, while it manipulates the US population into military adventures in numerous countries to serve its own aims.

This group controls one of the top ten weapons producers in the world while it lies about its nuclear capability, refuses to open its sites to UN inspection and receives billions of aid from the US.

This group runs the most racist genocidal apartheid state on the planet, while being supported in its genocide by its servants in the US government.

This group has brainwashed and threatened the public and media from even focusing attention on it for fear of character assassination, loss of employment, or loss of life.

This group controls the US government, the US banking system, the US media and the public mind.

Can you dare to name this group?

Is it a thought crime now to even think about this?

If not, it will be.

Re: “Nation's Unemployment Rate Holds Steady; Hourly Earnings Bump Up

So the lies are ‘holding steady’ for now.

These ‘reports’ are an insult to anyone who’s rubbing more than two brain cells together, since the actual unemployment rate is more than four times the fictional rate concocted by the government lackeys.

The real unemployment rate is much higher than is currently reported by government; the government knows the unemployment situation is worse than the rosy BLS numbers suggest; but, the government is intentionally lying about the unemployment numbers in order to deceive the American people into thinking that “happy days are here again,” and the Obama administration is competent to lead our economy.

Lies about unemployment rates are just like modern manipulated market indices which are supposed to “discover” true prices so we can properly allocate capital. If government “discovers” that the unemployment rate is only 5%, we need not allocate much political “capital” to solving that problem. That problem isn’t too severe.

But, if government “discovers” that the real unemployment rate is closer to 23% (as claimed by John Williams at, then Congress and the White House had better stop fooling around in Ukraine and Syria and devote maximum “political capital” to solving our domestic unemployment problem.

Re: “Treefort 2015: Shredding at Skatefort

The Boise skateboard community has been working on the Rhodes park remodel for over ten years. With schools losing funding, P.E. is being cut next to nothing and with children's obesity rates climbing. Skateboarding is an activity that self motivates kids to be active.

Re: “Cannabis Oil Bill Passes Idaho House Committee

I really want to see this pass not only as a treatment for seizures, but also as an alternative for cancer treatment etc. I would love to see some reports/research on the benefits of cannabis oil. What kind of studies are available? Would be great to see some journalism on the subject.
