Not only "fighting for themselves": they are also fighting for the giant corporations that buy their votes.

Re: “Why to Impeach Obama

Rall is full of it this time (also at other times).

This country does not need any Islamist IED-makers---that the Uzbek's home ruler is a sadistic dictator makes no difference. We should get this bomb maker out of the US ASAP. Let him make his IEDs elsewhere.

Speaking of dictators: check out Saudi Arabia and other Middle eastern tyrranies. How about Bashar al Asad? Oh I forgot--his notoriety seems a bit on the wane these days as smug EU and US weapons industries get ready to sell or donate more military assistance to the rebels (a mixed bunch that includes al Qaeda and other Salafi types, all of whom absolutely HATE the US and the EU).

We have no business taking sides with any Middle Eastern rulers and their perpetual murderous internecine warfare--a cultural proclivity of theirs. They will variously continue to engage in civil warfare until their ethnic, clan, and religious factions decide to get along--which won't be soon.

Did Rall use the 'impeach' word to attract eyeballs?
Far worse than this Uzbek Islamist's treatment by the FBI is Obama's continued and escalated development of multiple spy agencies that read our email and listen to our phone confabs. But Obama is not the only one: Congress is oh so happy to go along with this s--t, except maybe for Sen. Bernie Sanders, who calls it out on a regular basis. What the US needs is Peace, including refusing calls on our national executive vanity and international prestige cliches to intervene in other people's wars.

Re: “Lose a House, Get $300

Three words . . .legal, illegal, and big. If the "big" banks and thier customers are required to follow rules of a third party in the first place then that third party must be bigger than the banks and the customers combined. If the banks in violation of these rules have made "illegal" loans and are now being prosecuted then again your defination of big needs work. Who determines the 300 to 500 dollar rerward? The bank, the customer or that elusive, subtle yet forceful third party to free enterprise? And finaly, if we did "burn down the banks" (or even make terroristic threats towards the same) I am sure we would find out real quick just how friendly the gaurd dog of the mighty one percent is. I will leave it as an excercise in political "science" for you to guess the dogs name.

Re: “Mayors of Brokesville

I love Rall, but this article is pretty much an explanation of "I'm too old to understand that the world around me is changing and it's confusing and scary." First clue: All the young people appear and sound stupid. (Rall, think hippies and the civil rights movement.) If there are 25- to a a hotel...with iPhones...without mom and dad...well, they're probably making money, and maybe a lot of it. No, their customers aren't at SXSW buying b/c they're online, buying.

The internet may not be a wooden rocking horse, but it is a real thing. It is something we're all building, with our hands and minds. Where there is shrinkage in the economy, there is always growth. (Rall, think Bootleggers during the depression. Yeah, I went all the way back there.)

Common' John Lennon said, "Imagine."

Re: “Mayors of Brokesville

Response to Ted Rall's "Mayors of Brokesville" I've been hearing that America is doomed for 60 years. I think David Stockman is just explaining the reality of the fact that we baby boomers fell asleep for 40 years while, Regan, Bush and the Mad Hatter Bush, set us up for failure. The politicians succeeded in dividing us and instilling hat for the opposite party. Now we have the tea party assholes that think they're special and have a right to destroy everything we boomers have worked for. America will fail financially, hell, that's already happened. There is no economic recovery, banks are investing overseas and we have for the most part lost all hope in our government. Those that believe that everything is OK are listening to the nightly news and their preachers, pastors, bishops and priests telling you to pray and have faith while our worthless politicians slowly but surely take away our freedoms, put us under surveillance, defund our public schools and prevent 40 million people from having medical insurance. NO jobs, NO investment money, millions of tax dollars squandered, violating our civil rights and our elected douchebags politicians lining up at the lobbyist trough and voting the scumbags will and not the will of the people.
Let them and they will be marching us to the gas chambers. Too far fetched?
Evil people are evil people, they are never going to change or get better. They are like rabid dogs and you know what the only solution is for an out of control animal foaming at the mouth.

Re: “Gays Sucked in

@karcreat2, as you had seen, conservatives started to change their views on LGBT issues, as well as minorites, because they want to win elections. so, really, not that far off.

"people are not gay based on their political leanings "

True...but IF you are gay and 'lean to the right', supporting the party who is AGAINST any rights you look to are an IDIOT.

'Gays Sucked In'

Yes, you read right.

That is ACTUALLY what moron Ted Rall entitled his 'article' this week.

Any other questions regarding why I hate this clueless POS?

Rall: "I don't get it"

You said a mouthful there, Teddy...

Re: “Gays Sucked in

This is an interesting article, and made me recall this experience: While talking to a friend who is gay I made the mistake of assuming he was left-leaning in his politics. He quickly reprimanded me for assuming that and I was glad he did. So I guess that experience influences my response to this article: as far as I know, people are not gay based on their political leanings or desire to be part of a social movement.

Re: “Gays Sucked in

Rall: "I don't get it. The big advantages of being gay were that you didn't have to get married or go to war."

That's pretty funny!

Re: “Poor and Uneducated, Like We Thought

Reading the article and then reading the responses from fellow brethren in arms compels me to share my insight... To all we are focusing on the wrong issues. It is a fallacy to think that a nation's strength can be measured by its "best and brightest". On the contrary, the character, ethic, discipline, and achievement of the nations' most vulnerable is a far more accurate indicator of a nations' strength and viability. If a nations' poor prove to be unpatriotic or unproductive they will destroy the enemy closest to them, which is themselves or those that seek to exploit them.

Re: “Is the GOP Doomed?

Maybe the illustration of the issue is located in your opinion based article. In the quote from David Horowitz. " republican victories of the future rely on a combination of hope and fear, making voters feel that republicans care about them and that liberals want to enslave them in a nanny state."
You can try all you want but as any ignored woman will tell you, there is no emotion in lip service feelings, they would win more votes in general being whom they truly are not trying to dupe the general public into trying to pretend they feel for us. Yes some of the general publuc is just that stupid, then again usually those of that level of intelligence are unable to find their way out of their house much less a voting booth. The only true way to show your caring and ability to suceed at that is to actually do it not pretend.

Re: “Against Philanthropy

Your article fails to recognize the important contributions philanthropy can make to otherwise unrecognized causes. Take Bloomberg's donation for example; $25 million of his donation to Hopkins was earmarked for ALS research, an "orphan disease" for which grant funding is extremely difficult to obtain (especially in the sequestration era). While it may seem silly to you to donate such a large sum of money to a disease that affects only a small number of people, private donations are a source of great hope for the patients and families of those afflicted with ALS and other rare conditions.

Re: “Is the GOP Doomed?

Both parties ideologies are centered around the dictates of the capital vampires. The party platforms are in actuality about as different as are Pepsi and Coke, with the voters given the choice between the two flavors. The same fundamental agenda is relentlessly pressed forward regardless of which party is predominant, with the voters given less important side distraction issues to focus on so that the real issues are never seriously considered.

The *911 attack on US may be in the re-making now due to continued corruption, incompentence and evil doings of fbi/cia globally.

Meet the real United States officials through the anonymous & filthy comments of fbi torturers, serial cyberstalkers and killers; see J. Then, discover the fraud, aka Batvette, another fbi disinformation operative, in the comment section at the last ** link below. Re: “Does Your Brain Have a Right to Privacy?

I find "thought crimes" offensive. I'm a mentally ill vet and what goes through my head would terrify most people. I take my meds as prescribed and see my shrink as necesarry.

I had a creative writing class years back. I wrote a story about some terminally ill character who bailed out a 20 year old chick from jail. He got some road helmet but she did not swallow. He slashed her neck and dry fucked her esophogus to blast his wad.

The horror genre is not about Mary Shelly, Rob Zombie or Edgar Allen Poe. The horror genre is about their stories can happen to you.

Re: “Stuck

Russia a.k.a. 'Putin' also throws hissy fits and retaliates against Americans who are so loving, generous, and kind enough to adopt their 'less desirable' (read Down's Syndrome, CP, etc.) children even though they won't 'take care of their own,' basically institutionalizing those kids, rather than allowing them to have a chance at a better life in America.

Idaho is a lot like Russia. Russia has just past a law that legalizes the persecution of Homosexuals. Reactionary Retards of a feather flock together.
