Re: “Light in the Dark

Heavy and beautiful!! Boise's answer to Spinal Tap, maybe? Do their amplifiers have an "11" setting?

Re: “Treefort 2017: Cassiopeia Plays Haunting Set at Shredder

Hey there, Ben! The correct link for Cassiopeia from SF that played Treefort at the Shredder the other day is https://cassiopeiamusic.bandcamp.com
They are incredible SF artists and I just wanted to point it out so that people can check them out if they didn't get a chance to see their shows in amazing Boise.
You can also find them at: https://www.facebook.com/cassiopeia.bandd/
Thanks so much!

Re: “Treefort 2017: The Sun and the Mirror Debuts at Linen Building

Darling Rollercoaster was the most most unexpectedly jaw-dropping act I saw at Treefort 5. So glad they're continuing their trajectory as The Sun and The Mirror.

Re: “At Crowbar It's All About What You Don't Know

This evokes memories of The Underground nightclub in Seattle on University Way (aka "the Ave") in the late eighties and early nineties. Descending to the underground to dance all night was an experience I'll never forget. Crowbar could be really cool for Boise.

Re: “At Crowbar It's All About What You Don't Know

Years ago I frequented this place to see/hear THE UNINVITED play. I took many photos of the band, and was often asked if I was someone's mom. Nope, but I got some good pictures and made some friends too.

Re: “Video: Dan Popkey, Former 'Idaho Statesman' Reporter and Current Labrador Press Secretary, Raps

Umm. Brings to mind the nanotechnological experiments shown the "The Manchurian Candidate".

Re: “Video: Dan Popkey, Former 'Idaho Statesman' Reporter and Current Labrador Press Secretary, Raps

That was one of the most excruciating performances I've ever seen. I do think he's lost his mind. I wonder what possessed him to think it was a good idea.

I think it's awesome. No longer a employee of the Statesman and having some fun.

Re: “Local Musician Lee Penn Sky Riffs on Disappointments and Blessings

A small correction: "Big Branch Mine" is actually about the Upper Big Branch Mine in West Virginia. Sorry, Lee.

Re: “Local Musician Lee Penn Sky Riffs on Disappointments and Blessings

I bought this CD last week and love every song on it. If you like the singer/song-writer genre you will really love this CD. I'm so happy I found it, and very happy Boise Weekly is promoting it. It's fantastic.

Re: “From The Crazy Horse to the Red Room

As a member of the long-defunct Freeman's Attic and So Far Gone, some of my best memories are of playing the Crazy Horse (1994-1996). One overlooked aspect of the club was the welcoming attitude towards local groups and the up and coming - not just the great bands that came through ( I saw Fugazi there in 95' I think it was..). Yes, the bands I was in sucked, but the Crazy Horse gave us a home, and we loved it - good times...
