Re: “Dec. 8, 2017: What to Know

You got it wrong. AJ Balukoff was opposed in the 2014 Democratic primary for governor. He garnered 16K votes, and Terry Kerr (from Idaho Falls, who had previously run for office as a Republican) got 8,800.

Re: “Hate Crime Training for Police Is Often Inadequate, Sometimes Nonexistent

There is no such thing as a "hate crime". A black man harms a white woman, or the same black man harms a Chinese man. There is no difference. Harm was done and the person who committed the harm needs to be brought to justice. Only idiots, and those who are truly racist and bigoted, will try and make the harming of one person worse than the harming of another. Hate Crime labeling is nothing but moral deception and the creation of "protected" classes of people which will lead to abuses of class.

The original Silence Breakers: Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, Leslie Millwee, and Juanita Broaddrick. I bet that stings....

Re: “Public Outcry May Have Nixed a Job Training Facility for Veterans in Boise

That building has been a bar/restaurant/event center for 30 years. It has served the community as a gathering place and has been a wonderful amenity, when run properly, and was part of the reason many bought homes in the area. It needs to stay as a wonderful centerpiece to Lakeharbor's serene ambiance. The proposed use is completely mismatched with that location.
