Who Polices Prosecutors Who Abuse Their Authority? Usually Nobody 

Tony Bennett near Jamaica Bay, N.Y. After serving 13 years in prison for murder, Bennett was released when a state appeals court found that the prosecutor who had handled his case had violated a basic rule of law by withholding critical evidence from Bennett's attorney. In an interview, Bennett confessed to the crime.
