  • Nuclear Fallout

After becoming a pivotal figure in Owyhee County's effort to draft a powerful new energy plan (in lieu of a decent state plan), Joe Weatherby has resigned his post as a county planning and zoning commissioner.

The Owyhee Avalanche has the story.

In drafting his energy plan, Weatherby quickly gathered high-placed opposition, including some from Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter's administration.

He also pissed off Alternate Energy Holdings, the newly-formed nuclear energy company that is hoping to build a small nuclear power plant in Owyhee County.

More details as they come in.
