Re: “Tavern at Bown Crossing

Look at what you wrote: "The group consists of nurses, technicians, engineers, machinist, dental professionals, business professionals, etc. staple members of our community. After talking to the manager he agreed to serve us but the wait staff acted like we weren't good enough for the place and basically let us stay long enough to make us feel really unwelcome"

You make a list of how qualified and educated your group was for their careers and you try to use those qualifications to show how the group was made up of stellar citizens and you wonder why you had a bad experience? Well, the way you wrote your review you sound like you are writing from a pillar looking down on common folk. It also reads like you are the type of person to find things wrong anywhere you go. Maybe read your comments again, out loud, to a few friends that are not from your "...staple members..." of our community and see if they think that your approach in your review came off as horrible.

My dining experiences there have been great. I have only dined on the sushi side and not the steak house area so I cannot comment on the other dishes. The speciallty rolls where all pretty good so far. Most that I have ordered have been on the large size so you should get full. Prices are on the higher side but not too bad. Sadly I have not been out there for awhile as I seem land-locked on the west side of town as of late.

Re: “Bill Emerges That Would Give 'Leeway' to Passing Motorists on Idaho Highways

"No, increased risk for impatience makes no sense."

If a car is 5mph under the speed limit and you pass by the 5mph, or 7 ft / sec is too slow for safe passing. Counting a the following gap when you start your pass and when you left enough room to merge back by not speeding your version of passing could take 15 second. That is too long and not safer.

Re: “Best Local Thai Food

Mai Thai?!? Again?

People must be just blown away by the interior because the food is not the best Thai in Boise. Chiang Mai and Sa-Wa-Dee spank Mai Thia

Re: “President Obama in Boise: "Don't Just Say 'No.' I Want A 'Yes.'"

"Minutes later, Obama was sharing his enthusiasm with the crowd - nearly 6,000 strong"

Wow. That is nearly 1% of the population within 25 mile radius.

Re: “Analysis: 47 Percent of Idaho Public School Students Qualify for Meal Assistance

How many of these families could actually pay for their kids to eat at home?

300 calories of oatmeal + 90 calories of banana costs about $0.50 for breakfast. Now, not every family can afford even that BUT I know of people that were on meal assistance that had enough money for food but they were just too lazy to cook for their kids in the morning.

System is abused quite often.

Re: “Your Health Idaho: 83,383 Processed Thus Far

Sadly, I wonder how many of those people actually did enough research into this issue rather than just signing up because they thought they had to. ACA would cost me $200+ more per month compared to sticking with an outside plan, even after the "subsidy" and that is being at the lower end of middle class income level.

Re: “Expansions, Openings and Closures

"In closing news, the West End Food Park has shut down only a few months after opening at 2419 W. Fairview Ave"

Sad but kind of a duh before they started. The location was horrible. Not really anything around there that you would walk to or from.

Green Belt is a little far off if you are on foot, down town is clearly too far away. What else is there for the public that has mass appeal outside of the food trucks? Little, thus it was doomed from the start.

Location, location, location!

Re: “Payette History Museum Running Out of Money, Faces Possible Closure

Sad, but if it cannot self-sustain then the market has spoken.

Anymore government money poured into this means that it is someone's emotional pet project rather than what the community needs.
