Re: “Idaho Sen. Patrick Says Chobani Boycott Comment Was 'Tongue in Cheek' But Keeps Taking Shots at Yogurt Maker

I think Chobani should only buy milk from dairies that agree to surprise inspections, including hidden videotaping, to document treatment of animals. We can then see who needs who more. Chobani is on the right side of this issue in terms of morality, public policy and public opinion.

Re: “No Curb Cup In 2011: UPDATE

Noooooooo! I liked playing at this in 2009 and 2010. Maybe some other people step up to sponsor. What's the DBA for, if not this?

Re: “AEHI's Gillispie Listed as Consultant for Proposed Nuke Plant in Colorado

Just to clarify, the "martinsj" posting above is not me. I suspect it is Joe Weatherby, who runs a number of anonymous blogs (linked above) and who evidently cannot use his real name, but perhaps this "martinsj" could step out of the shadows and use their real name and settle the issue.

As an aside, and as a former journalist and former consultant for AEHI, I have to wonder whether the Boise Weekly read the story it links to. The Weekly states "The Pueblo Chieftain reported today that Colorado attorney Don Banner has a plan, but what he doesn't have is government approval ..." The linked Chieftan story reports "The Pueblo Planning Commission ... said 'Yes nukes' to a plan by a local lawyer to build a nuclear power plant southeast of the city."

Re: “Payette: The County of "Yes"

The only fraud going on here is "Joe Lucid" submitting testimony to the Payette Planning and Zoning Commission using a false name, which is perjury. Thankfully, the county rejected Lucid's testimony because "Joe Lucid" is not his real name. "Joe Lucid" should consider disclosing to people that the county tossed out the testimony he links to at Gooogle docs above. I lay it all out on my blog at…

Remarkably, on a Yahoo discussion board, Lucid also claims he was at the Dec. 2 P and Z meeting.

Re: “Litster Calls for Streetcar Vote, Thomson Calls for Calm

The city has far more crucial transportation and economic issues than a streetcar.

Most Bench neighborhoods are without sidewalks, an intolerably unsafe situation and a holdover from when the city allowed subdivisions to be built to primitive standards. The city needs to focus on Safe Routes to School and use its successful redevelopment mojo to redevelop blighted Bench strip malls. Downtown has been doted over enough. It’s time to bring the initiative to the Bench; Bieter himself has admitted the Bench has been shortchanged and I am stunned he and the city council would press forward with a trolley while too many neighborhoods suffer from lack of investment. In some ways it is easier to focus on regional transportation than it is to focus on neighborhood reinvestment. I say we need to roll up our sleeves and turn our attention to neglected parts of the city - the places that don’t show up on blog mastheads, the places that don’t show up on postcards or Chamber of Commerce materials, the places where the tour bus trolley doesn’t go.

These are the places where most Boiseans live.
