Re: “Update: Rep. Todd Akin: Pregnancy Rarely Caused by 'Legitimate Rape'

Unbelievable that he thinks “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down," throughout past centuries up to present day Africa, the invading country rapes the women, they have children and eventually it starts all over again....and he thinks a woman raped can "shut that whole thing down?" Did he even attend school?

Re: “A Desperate Housewife of Garden City

Aw fer Pete's sake, will you guys stop picking on Garden City everytime you want a cheap laugh!? That's what's the government's for! I'm third generation Garden City resident, and I love where I live...you got one thing right, we DON'T like anybody telling us what to do, that's why we're Garden City, the "Happy Little Thorn in Boise's Side!" By the way, I've met all the GC mayors, from George Pritchard to John Evans, and NONE of them died in prison. Now go pick on somebody else, ya big bully, we're too busy improving our city to pay anymore attention to your tasteless April Foolish joke.....

Re: “Garden City

Oh come on, Garden City is MUCH more! How about OUR side of the Greenbelt? It runs mostly alongside the Boise river with ducks, geese, otter, mink and the occasional deer. Riverside dining outside at Joe's Crabshack anyone? The Headstart Center and Learning Lab can be found on east 36th st. How about the new pedestrian bridge connecting Boise to Garden City being constructed even as we speak? Kids from all over Ada County go to the Boys & Girls club off Adams Street, and we have some great parks including Waterfront park and Westmorland park by the golf club. Think of all the wonderful places to eat and play along Chinden Blvd. Chinese, seafood, steak! And don't forget that great horse and the classic neon lights at the Ranch Club! I was born and raised in Garden City and yep, we were the red-headed step-child, but we've always been the independent thorn in Boise's foot and we like it like that! We have our own community school, government, library and police department and we may be little, but we're scrappy! Take that, all you Boise folk! I'm from Garden City! Now I'm going to go pick blackberries with other volunteers for the Garden City Senior Center. I'm pushing a senior in a wheelchair, what have you done for anyone lately?
