Re: “Weed Out

For the same reason some choose to drink wine. Yes, it turned out decades later that I was unwittingly treating my physical issues, and I'm grateful, because now I know how to use it medically and what it's capable of... but I started smoking, and still smoke for, recreation. And ain't nothin' wrong that <3

Re: “I Got it Covered

Wow. All those words, all that energy, and not a thought given to the possibility that people are reacting to the slow, sneaky erosion of our Constitutional rights? Slowly but surely, the rights to privacy, bear arms, and assembly are being taken from us, because we don't exercise them. Ever hear the adage, 'Use it or lose it'? Apply it here. The 'well-armed militia' part refers to all enemies, foreign and domestic-- domestic does not mean our fellow citizens, but our *government*. No one is afraid of going to Moxie Java and getting threatened. It's not about where you are when you need your gun, but whether you have it with you when you need it.

Re: “Idaho House Committee Moves Anti-Pot Measure Forward

Once again, very little notice or time to prepare, many of us were unable to attend this time. Thank you to Lindsey Rhinehart, Compassionate Idaho, Mark Rinehart, and everyone who attended that meeting and spoke in support of Cannabis for Idaho. Your presence there cost each of you in some way, and I appreciate your showing up.

I did voice my opinion in an email to John Gannon, the Rep for my district. I am curious to know how many people did likewise, I have a feeling more of us are being ignored than we even know.

Here's what I had to say:

Dear Mr. Gannon,

It is my wish as a voter in the 83705 area code that you, as my representative, do not support SCR 112, since *all* the cited reasons for Idaho's "opposition to efforts to legalize marijuana for any purpose in the State of Idaho" are invalid.

I am unable to attend the House State Affairs Committee hearing scheduled for Tuesday, March 19, 2013, but wish to have my representative aware of my refusal of this resolution. At the first Senate Committee hearing, I was able to attend and testify, and provided ample printed citations for my arguments, which should now be a part of the record of that hearing.

The outdated studies used to 'prove' the adverse effects of both Cannabis use and the legalization thereof have been debunked by modern medical science. Idaho's potential medical marijuana patients cannot be ignored and made to suffer because our legislators are unwilling to put in the effort of doing independent research in order to make an informed and educated decision regarding marijuana. Idaho's recreational users should not be in jeopardy of losing freedoms for choosing to partake of a substance that does not cause the immediate and long-term negative effects caused by the legal alternatives, alcohol and tobacco. A 2010 Clear Research Poll showed that 74% of Idahoans support the legalization of medical marijuana, and nearly 50% supported full legalization (http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2011/feb/…). Senator Winder's proposal does not reflect the sentiments of his constituents.

Please consider the facts and use compassion when making the decision to vote "NO" on SCR 112. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Theresa Knox

Re: “Boise Police: Woman Busted For Last-Minute Christmas Shoplifting

How sad that a season of giving and goodwill is responsible for such desperation... hopefully this year she will come to the conclusion that having her around and not in jail is a much better present than a game console. I wish her the emotional healing she clearly needs.

Re: “Idaho HOPE Hemp Fest, Sept. 25

From the very bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single soul who came out to learn about hemp, support the movement, and mingle with other like-minded souls! The first ever Boise H.O.P.E. Fest was a HUGE success, and we'll be back bigger and better next year <3

Re: “Idaho Produce Grower Close to Collapse Following Recall

Ms. Scharf needs to realize that as a grower of what I am guessing is non-GMO food, she is a huge threat to Monsanto and therefore the government. The government will lie, cheat, steal, slander, and libel anything they don't profit from... case in point, Prohibition of Cannabis. More natural foods growers are being shut down, via various sneaky methods, every day... I hope Ms. Scharf continues to fight for her business! I am in Boise and will post this to my Facebook, we will do our very best to send ppl her way.
