Re: “Virgin Yogi Sweats It Out For Hot Yoga Trip

How are your judgements a mirror for yourself? I've personally seen many, many people benefit tremendously from practicing Bikram Yoga. They benefit by healing physically, but also emotionally, and spiritually. Yes Bikram style yoga has spread throughout the world, but just because it's big doesn't mean it's bad. I believe it's popular because it works. How can you pretend to live by yoga philosophy if you sling hatred and judgements about a practice that you've never had significant personal experience with? How can you call it "crap", or "lacking wisdom"? The asanas are rigorously followed precisely to ensure the student heals, develops strength and flexibilty, and not just performing a creative dance move. The dialogue provides a foundation to ensure proper technique, but I've experienced a wide variety of skill of an instructor in teaching, motivating, and cultivating awareness of how the practice of yoga impacts our life. I hope potential students ignore petty jealous slander, and instead have their own experience, learning to judge a style of yoga by how it benefits their own life or not.

Re: “Best Sweating Like a Health-Conscious Pig

Why do people all over the world swear by Bikram Yoga? Because it works. It is now a franchise, but Bikram says this is to keep it pure and undiluted. In fact, to keep it true to the original Hatha yoga prescribed by Patangaji, having EVERYTHING to do with the art of Yoga. Bikram is the first to teach yoga in a heated room, the original hot yoga.

The owners of Bikram Boise ARE local. Bikram Corporate gives, nor receives any money from the studio.

Before you negatively judge, give it a good try first. See if you notice the benefits to your body and mind, like so many others. Meet Jamie and Billy, the friendly local owners. Notice for yourself there's no mold and often smells like peppermint, lavender, and tea tree.

Ask yourself why you're negatively judging, and then ask, "If yoga means union, is it yogic to judge, or is it merely a reflection of an unresolved issue within me?"

Whatever path can lead you to a unification of Mind, Body, and Spirit, is your personal path to living the art of Yoga.
