Re: “Dog Fight

I have two tickets from this person. I agree that he uses no discretion in writing tickets. The last ticket he wrote me stated his partner was a witness. False. She was no where around. I did not mention this to his superiors as I have no faith in the city that anything would be done. It would have only added to my frustration level. I do agree, however, that there are owners that leave their dog's cr@p on the ground and this is totally not acceptable. And owners who have untrained dogs should not have their dogs off-leash, but who is the arbiter of that issue? However, this is not the argument. Dog-at-large is the problem. The off-leash pilot program is good, but needs to be expanded. The fenced-in dog parks aren't big enough, and don't get me started on how dirty my dog gets from the mulch. Mulch would be great if the area involved was four times as large. And how about Camel's Back Park? The top half of the park (North of the rest-rooms) is away from the playgrounds and a good spot for being off-leash. If you think not, look at the layout of the other pilot parks. Back to the point of how inconsiderate the officer is, and I am in complete agreement. I know he is doing his job, but if I did my job the way he does his, I would be fired.
