Re: “UPDATE: Ada County Completes Mosquito Aerial Spraying

This is SO infuriating. West Nile is NOT that big of a deal! I got it in 2007 and was sick like a dog for a week. But guess what?? I survived just fine! Not to mention, my body now has a natural immunity to the virus and I can never get it again. It's just like chicken pox, people - get it, be massively uncomfortable, then get OVER it. Here are just a couple highlights about the spray they are using:

- Napthaline: which has been classified by the EPA as a "possible human carcinogen" because it has caused lung tumors in mice. It has also caused headaches, restlessness, lethargy, nausea, diarrhea, and anemia

- 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene: it is a eye and skin irritant and a nervous system depressant that causes headaches, fatigues, nausea, and anxiety as well as asthmatic bronchitis.

Hmmm......which is better? Sick for a week then never again, or possible tumors, headaches, and asthmatic bronchitis???? goddammit.........

Re: “Me and My Shadow is a Strong Production of a Struggling Script

I'm completely disgusted by the comments left here and very disappointed in this flat, book report style review.

Heidi Kraay's play was brilliantly executed. It's simple, elegant narrative and unpretentious, eye-level look at the characters gave me chills. I have been thinking about this play nonstop since I saw it on Saturday night, and would happily go see it again any day. I think Kraay's style is refreshing and modern, and she obviously wrote her characters from an empathetic place, which is why they came to life so effortlessly in the incredibly capable hands of the actors.

I had the pleasure of speaking with the actors after the play, and they all said the same thing - that it was an honor to work with such a well written and engaging script.

All the comments here lead me to one conclusion - this town still has a long way to go before it can truly respect and appreciate art. I am truly saddened by the utter shit that has been smeared on this comment page. It is really too bad...........
