Re: “Nine Internet Payday Lenders Ordered To Stop Doing Business in Idaho

It may be the case that selecting customers from one 1 firm was perhaps not good practice but the results of the research should not be dismissed simply because of that. The general perception amongst politicians is that there is no such thing as reputable payday loan company - ask Stella Creasy, but clearly there is. What this survey shows is a huge gulf between what customers think and what our representatives believe, which in short that people who use payday lending firms are foolish, don't understand what they are getting in to and need protecting from themselves.

Re: “Press-Tribune: Caldwell Looking To Limit Payday Loan Operators

Here's what's ridiculous: well-meaning officials and activists trying to understand payday loans with a credit-card mentality. These are short term loans, they're not paid off over a year, or with monthly payments like a credit card is, anyone who takes out these loans understands this. People use these loans specifically because they don't have the luxury of a credit card with a nice, politically-correct APR. It's also ridiculous that even with one or even two jobs, some folks still need loans like these to make ends meet. And instead of addressing the need for a living wage, politicians would rather scrutinize the loans people sometimes need to get by. http://speedyloansearch.com/payday-loans/

Re: “Consumer Credit Surges

The growth in consumer debt has most to do with student loans. Student loans should be separated from auto loans, as mortgages are, because student loans cannot be discharged in bankruptcy, or a degree reposessed as collateral. Car sales are shrinking. People are driving less. Consumer loans minus student loans is actually trending lower. This shows how much of a bubble colleges are in.
