I'm sorry, "TheMouthThatRoars", but I completely disagree about your assessment of Fork. While I DO feel that the loss of Chef Doughty's was a big one, Fork stands out in my mind for the burgers, the unbeatable parmesan fries, the shortribs, the imaginative plating, the buttercake (good lord, yes!), and the friendly and capable service.

Alavita looks to be somewhat high-calorie, but the combination of ingredients--including gluten-free pasta--is a welcome (and locally-sourced) addition to the creative and delicious fare from Asiago's, Gino's, and Bella Aguila. I say, "Hooray!" for a new eatery like Alavita.
