There is a mechanism set in place by the founders for challenging the constitutionality of any law or regulation and it is called the court system. If you as a law enforcement officer think something is unconstitutional, you challenge it in the courts. And if these "lawmen" who swore to support and defend the constitution don't know that, then they have no business holding that office and need to find a new line of work. Nullification was settled with the civil war and federal law always trumps state or local laws, up to and until the court orders and injunction or rules that law or regulation unconstitutional. We are not, to the dismay of some, a banana republic with a bunch of corrupt dictators running around deciding what laws they will enforce.
