Re: “New Era Begins for U.S. Horse Slaughterhouses

personally, any person who owns a horse should be responsible for euthanizing that horse and burying it or cremating it. There should be a law about how many horses a person can own according to their land ownership and gelding a horse should be mandatory. You get to collect and freeze horse semen ONCE. That is it. Not this broodmare crap and throw away the foals....this could be avoided with some simple laws and regulations and above all INTELLIGENCE. So if we can sit here in 2 minutes and solve this problem, tell me why can't our leaders, you know Ivy League lawyers etc.....oh I know because horse slaughter lines their pockets..... $$$$ they could care less about doing what is logical or right for the horse population. They give the BLM billions...how much would it cost to capture the wild stallions of a band and geld him...not all of them..but enough to keep the numbers safe and manageable??? hmmmm no money in that just common sense. They can pay to have whole herds of horses rounded up and sent to slaughter, but cannot pay to capture some of the stallions and geld them. REALLY????? what bullshit are they sending our way now..... our government and those who utter their ..."oh slaughter is good for the horses and keeps them from starving, blah blah blah " should be the first to pull their chair up and eat a big plate of horse meat filled with Bute and dewormer........yummmmmmmm you know what they say, "you are what you eat"
