Re: “The Wrong Question: Idaho Labor Dept. Chief Target of EEOC Probe

This is very disappointing but not surprising. I hope this doesn't fall out of the news until the truth of this situation is explained.

Good! This scum had no business speaking on behalf of any city in Idaho!

Re: “Abortion Limiting Bill Passes House Panel

Perhaps abortions SHOULD be free for all women who want them. Then the pro-lifers would be complaining about that. Until the "right" wants to provide for all these babies through childhood (and the health and welfare of the mothers who bear these children) they should be HAPPY to fund birth control. An ounce of prevention - including birth control education - costs far less than all the welfare and assorted other costs borne by the States and, ultimately, taxpayers.

Re: “Dog Eat Dog

I have to agree with Legal Gal - this is getting a bit more fishy with the addition of McCallister's posts. While I don't know Mr. Lima, and I don't know if he's a decent person or a liar, I do know that 1) he wrote letters and filed the complaints not on behalf of HIS dog, but on behalf of others in the class. No one in the class but him witnessed the abuse he said occurred, even the 6 other dog owners! Why should there be any polygraph tests if none of the other dog owners - the ones Mr. Lima has reported on behalf of - witnessed any kind of inappropriate behavior? 2) A Google of Mr. Lima would indicate that he is quite versed in judo and possibly other martial arts. If he were truly affronted, if he or his dog - or any other dogs were being mistreated - why didn't his obvious knowledge of martial arts and diffusing a hostile situation come into play? Something is rather ripe in Denmark - errrr, Boise, and it appears it is all the ruckus Mr. Lima has started. And, finally - Legal Gal, you had me actually laughing out loud when you posted the question to McCallister: If he/she is such a good dog trainer and a friend of Mr. Lima, why didn't he take his dog to him/her? What an excellent question!

Re: “Dog Eat Dog

I think Deanna's article is extraordinarily one-sided and poorly investigated and written. First of all, she didn't get the name of the Dog House's owners correct. (It's Yanez, Deanna. That should be basic investigative reporting 101.) Next, she failed to interview all the members of the dog training class to verify if indeed Mr. Lima's accusations were valid. There were only 7 in the class with Mr. Lima. How hard would it have been to contact 6 people? I've been in the Dog House - for doggie day care, for dog training, for their benefit fund-raiser to provide airmasks to all the fire departments here in the Treasure Valley, for benefits for the Northwest Animal Companions, for kenneling and for their home-baked dog treats, and there isn't a finer business nor more caring individuals for our canine family members. I am very suspicious of Mr. Lima's claims of abuse - now, yesterday, or several weeks ago. I would not be surprised to learn that Mr. Lima is a friend of a competitor in the Dog Training business - the lengths to which he has gone to try and damage the Yanez' business is extraordinary, considering he did no complaining at all, and in fact, was joking with Mr. Yanez and stayed after class. If he were truly offended and concerned, as he claims to be, wouldn't he voice his concerns at the time? Would he have stayed late for additional training at no cost? No - he voices concern through the media to try and destroy a great business. Well, we who value the Yanez' and the Dog House will support see you in court. All of us who value the Yanez and their business will support them in their quest to exonerate their name. I only hope you'll publish their acquittal news as well. And spell their names correctly.
