Re: “Idaho Sen. Patrick Says Chobani Boycott Comment Was 'Tongue in Cheek' But Keeps Taking Shots at Yogurt Maker

Idahoans, your not seeing the picture clearly. Chobani is in business with state government and the city of Twin Falls. They were notified in advance of Otters signing the AG-GAG bill.

Chobani received multi-millions in public funds and state tax cuts to build, not to mention the Idaho Department of Labor paid them $3.3 million to train employees. The City of Twin Falls spent $6.6 million to upgrade its waste-water treatment facility for Chobani. It also waived approximately $8 million in sewer, building and impact fees.

in addition, Chobani received $54 million in federal grants, state and local incentives. they claimed all of the investment for every 10 jobs ant Chobani it would create 66 outside jobs, absolutely not facts to substantiate this propaganda.

So if you actually want to believe the Chobani didn't want the AG-GAG bill then were have they been during the process........they were absent during the floor discussion and legislative vote.........they waited until 7 hours before the Governor signed the bill to issue a public relations statement to appear as if they were against it.....

Chobani is full of it...........all they care about is profit that's fine nobody is against that, but being a hypocrite and not doing something about what you allegedly stand for is an issue..........that deserves explanation ........especially since Chobani received multi-millions of Idaho public tax dollars while continuing to receive millions in tax cuts............The free market customers must know that Chobani uses AG-GAG dairy in the production of there yogurt......and is not what you think.

Re: “New Brews

oh please........its getting ridiculous here with bad and marginal brewers .......it is great to see these people take a chance on a business......but come on.......just review the demographics of this area.........it will be very difficult for all to survive..........not to mention you need product that tastes good.......most of these are over-sized homebrewers using too small of systems that wont allow them to make enough product......

Re: “Barbacoa Brims with Bombast

Look the reviewer is what he is...... a paid opinion writer.....he is not a journalist.....his skills in food knowledge are limited and anyone from this area who has ever read his opinions before clearly understands his limited skills and knowledge........

Uh yeah......Barbacoa........I imagine ownership is extremely nervous after overspending on the development of what he considers an upscale restaurant, which is merely a nightclub...........

The reality is setting in and now they need to make the investment payout..........they are locked in by design and operation to a limited demographic and a very tough location.....

Ask yourself why? are the Barbacoa's business interests seriously upset by a small paper opinion writer form the Boise Weekly.....do they realize they missed the mark?

Barabaco may have larger concerns on the horizon as the new smell wears off........ proving to there intended demographic they are not a night club, but a upscale quality restaurant....what do they want to be when they grow up... not to mention the high expectations they willful sought..... are not represented in the service or food........ its clear they had the access to lots of cash to over design a space.......but it seems that they forgot that setting the stage is only a small part of the fine dining or upscale food experience.....If they can find that......they can be great other wise all it's good for is a nightclub not a food experience.

Good luck Barbacoa...Boise need's good restaurants... you have the canvas now you need the rest......stop blaming others opinions ....its not them.. its you..!

Re: “A Push For Local Foods Certification

it a joke..........some of these so-called honest framers who taught the claims of organic because they grow produce or protein as organic ,yet the foundation of there product is not.........it contains genetically engineered beginnings...........so it become even more difficult to verify what really is organic....

Re: “John Foster

Foster assessment is absolute bullshit...as he still is trying to sell his losing propaganda as false facts.................he ran a political campaign attacking dedicated party loyalists to win praise from the extremist right......foster choose to demonize democratic supporters, his assumption dems would vote for Minnick anyway.....was wrong..........Foster failed big time......unless his goal was to destroy the Idaho democratic party then he succeeded...........go away.........

Re: “Velodrome Spins Out

When Nancy Merrill was mayor she made the backroom deal to spend over $1.5 million in city tax dollars that were supposed to for parks & rec to construct the park for these shady operators.

Mayor Bandy and the city of Eagle had to enter into a lease of additional Ada county property to make it happen, residents of Eagle are on the hook yearly to provide tax dollar to subsidies to pay that lease and maintenance costs for this non-revenue generating source to the City of Eagle.

Promises made to Eagle have failed, the operators and the park are a bust,

Someone is making money and someone is losing money, the losers are the residents of Eagle as they continue to subside this bad investment that has done nothing to support the community.

This major spending investment was not brought to a public vote Mayor Merrill hide the cost in as broken up items under the various park budget, this was a deal by Merril to avoid a public vote.
