Re: “Boise Airport Spending More on 'Strategic Planning' In Effort To Attract More Flights

I'd really like to know if the airport director, advisory group and city leaders have sought out input from the Idaho Travel Council, Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau, and others who have a stake in business and tourism travel to Southwest Idaho. The issue is so much bigger than "promoting and advocating." We need a group of influential people who understand the role played by travel, recreation and hospitality in our state. And, we need them to take action. Quick action. Flights from the Bay Area are limited. Non-stops are almost nonexistent. The amount of time and money our state spends on marketing and advertising is impressive. There's only one problem. People can't get here. At least not very easily and/or inexpensively.

Re: “Boise Police Involved in Cycling Accident

In any event, we're talking about a 61-year-old man who is working as a janitor to help keep BSU campus clean for students, faculty and staff, who is out a bike. If anyone's taking up a collection for Anderson, I'm in for $25.

Re: “Ask Bill

Right on. Classic Cope. Thank you for continuing to call it like you see it.

I have two children in elementary school. Their teachers are caring, smart, talented, inspiring people who keep on keeping on despite cuts and the state's failure to involve them in proposed solutions. It would be sad to see these teachers go away or give up hope.

Re: “Book Fair and Fundraiser

Thanks to the local H&R Block office that put Jingle Bells, Books and Blocks together for the second year in a row. Last year's event benefited the Learning Lab. This year's event is for Boise public school libraries. Lots of other people in the community, along with Barnes & Noble staff, worked to make this happen. Efforts like this can help ease the impact of budget cuts on Idaho public schools.
