Since the Ada County Highway District last updated its Roadways to Bikeways Master Plan in 2009, a bike lane pilot project downtown was implemented and scrapped, and the commission has gone back and forth on whether to convert some one-way streets to two-ways.

According to a Facebook promotion for a master plan community engagement session, "It's time for an update!"

After months of seeking public responses to the original master plan, which covers the ACHD regional bike network, the county road authority is set to discuss the update at the ACHD campus in Garden City Monday, Nov. 6, beginning at 6 p.m.

Topics to be covered include how ACHD assesses its progress in implementing the master plan, creating new metrics for assessing improvements to bicycle infrastructure, examining the latest trends and technology, and which upcoming projects should be put on the proverbial front burner.
