The Ada County Sheriff's office has officially identified a young man reported missing, and presumed downed, at Lucky Peak Reservoir. Christian Dale, 21, of Boise had been boating with nine other people at the reservoir just before sunset on July 29, but according to his companions, Dale fell out of the vessel as the boat's driver made a turn near Gooseneck Bay. ACSO marine patrol crews attempted to use aerial and sonar technology to find Dale, but to no avail.

Officials said the water's depth in the area is approximately 105 feet. A sheriff's office spokesman said that given the amount of time that Dale has been missing, he is presumed drowned and the search has turned into a recovery effort.

According to the official ACSO release, "Any time a person is missing and unaccounted for, detectives begin an investigation to determine exactly what happened." There was no information or evidence to suggest foul play. Dale was not wearing a life jacket.

Anyone who is at Lucky Peak reservoir and sees anything suspicious is asked to call Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.
