Ada County Treasure Vicky McIntyre was escorted from her office at the Ada County Courthouse Thursday after being charged with seven felony counts of misuse of public money by a public officer. In an official statement, Ada County Commissioners said late Thursday that McIntyre had been suspended until further notice and that Elizabeth Mann had been appointed acting county treasurer, effective immediately. In a brief press release from Ada County, commissioners said "this matter is under the jurisdiction of the Courts and the Board will await the Court's determination on the charges."

According to investigators, McIntyre allegedly used a county credit card to purchase two hockey tickets in Las Vegas earlier this year. McIntyre is also accused of using a county credit card for personal transportation costs, personal purchases at a Walmart and additional purchases at public amusement spots in Las Vegas and Bentonville, Arkansas.

Earlier this year, an internal audit reportedly discovered that McIntyre had used a county credit card for personal purchases, but when Ada County Commissioners asked McIntyre to surrender the card, she refused, insisting that she had paid back the purchases.

In May, McIntyre lost a Republican primary in a statewide race to see who would represent the GOP in this November's general election for Idaho State Treasurer.
