Alive After Five: Greyhounds

Wednesday, June 18

Hall and Oates meet ZZ Top? That's one way to describe the Austin, Texas-based duo of guitarist Andrew Trube and keyboardist Anthony Farrell. Another is a cross between Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King and the Black Keys. Still another, according to Esquire, is "intoxicating, gut-wrenchingly lovely." No matter, the Memphis soul-inspired sound of Greyhounds is get-down music that is by turns gritty, trippy and groovy. As CMTEdge put it, Greyounds is, "the past, present and future of soul."
