Re: “Shush Up, You Boys!

Doesn't the old adage read: "Ignorance is Bliss?" I guess in this case it should read: "Ignorance is Hatred." Apparently Bill hasn't bothered to consider updating his antiquated views of Harley Davidson motorcycle riders. Bill, do you honestly believe that the "aging pudgy dudes" riding American legends around town are Hell's Angels? I hate to burst your uneducated bubble, but those fellows are much more likely to be doctors than Hell's Angels. Who knows, the guy who saves your own aging pudgy rear-end when you have your next stress/hate mongering related heart attack might be a Harley rider. Be sure to tell him (after the fact) that you hate his "aging pudgy" self and would appreciate it if he gave you some ear plugs for the noise. You might also ask for a tissue to wipe your little cry baby eyes with. People like this Bill character make me sick. He clearly relies on old stereotypes to form his opinions of others. The reality is that Harley riders are some of the nicest people he would ever have the opportunity to meet (not that Bill would ever take the time to actually speak to an mc rider... god forbid). No, I have no doubt that Mr. Bill will be content to continue basing his opinions on old movies and hear-say. Yesterday, a group of one-hundred and thirty motorcycle riders (mostly Harley Davidson riders) raised over $5000 to benefit those unfortunate souls suffering from muscular dystrophy. This is nothing new though. The local hog chapter (full of "aging pudgy dudes")does this all the time: muscular dystrophy benefits, toy runs (for underprivileged youth), blood drives, donations to families of fallen veterans... the list goes on. Bill, if you ever wish to do some actual research before forming a stereotype, feel free to visit your local Harley dealer. You will most likely be shocked to see families of upstanding people, conversing like old friends. The fellowship will probably be a bit uncomfortable for a reclusive people hater like yourself. Be sure to glare at the little kids and spit on the bikes while you are there. We wouldn't want your warm hatred to grow cold now would we.
