Idaho State Police have confirmed that the death toll has climbed higher in the "100 deadliest days," the stretch of time during Memorial Day and Labor Day when traffic fatalities peak.

The latest incident occurred late Friday night on Grimes Creek Road, off of Idaho State Highway 21, south of Idaho City. That's where police said a southbound vehicle lost control while going around a corner and rolled down an embankment. The driver, 35-year-old Brooke Knudsen of Nampa was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. ISP said Knudsen and a passenger were wearing their seatbelts. But a third passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.  No word yet on an identity. The crash is still under investigation.
