Arriba, Boise State Football!

The Boise State Football team took no prisoners on Saturday when they busted through University of Nevada's defense for a 38-7 win. The win puts the Broncos at 12-0 for the season, guaranteeing them a spot in a the Bowl Championship Series, most likely the Fiesta Bowl on January 1 in Phoenix, but that won't be officially announced until December 3. If Boise State does go to the Fiesta Bowl, they'll likely face Texas, Oklahoma or Nebraska. Tickets will not be easy to come by and it should be about 70-plus degrees in Arizona that time of year ... sweet.

QB Get's KO

Coming off back-to-back losses, the Denver Broncos are looking inward to solve the problem: starting quarterback and Capital High alumni Jake Plummer will be spending some quality time with the bench. After a loss to San Diego last week and a 19-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day, it's a pretty safe bet that rookie Jay Cutler will take the starting quarter-back role.

America's Favorite Pastime

Just weeks after announcing an image redesign, there's more than just a logo change in store for the Boise Hawks. A Houston-based group of investors led by Neil Leibman has bought a majority interest in the ball club. Thomas Wick, who has owned the Hawks since 2003, will remain as a minority owner, and former majority owner, Base Capital out of Bellvue, Washington, will retain a 39 percent ownership of the franchise. Current general manager and president of the Hawks, Todd Rahr, will continue running the day-to-day operations of the team.
