Bah Humbug, Dec. 19-20, VAC

Jeremy Jensen, member of local group The Very Most and pioneer of the small indie label Coming in Second, has something to say to those sonic scrooges who ceaselessly complain about Boise's lack of a local music scene: bah humbug.

With the help of the Visual Arts Collective, Jensen has pieced together the two-day Bah Humbug Music Festival that will showcase the incredible breadth of young talent that sings, strums and struts across the Treasure Valley. The event is billed as a benefit for the VAC, with 16 bands split up equally over two nights. Friday, Dec. 19, is slated to feature: ATTN, Kris Doty, La Knots, Bonefish Sam, The Very Most, Central City Music Company, Idle Chatter and Floomdorm. On Saturday, Dec. 20, bands taking the stage include: Low-Fi, Le Fleur, Vonny Cal, Sleepy Seeds, Spondee, With Child, How's Your Family? and A Seasonal Disguise.

With the ultra-low price of $5 a night, even Ebenezer might be tempted to cast off his slippers, throw on some Chucks and glide out to Garden City. Though Tiny Tims take note: The show is, as usual, 21-and-up.

Friday, Dec. 19, and Saturday, Dec. 20, 7 p.m., $5 each night. Visual Arts Collective, 3638 Osage St., Garden City, 208-424-8297, visualartscollective.com.
