Ballet Idaho

When: Thu., June 1, 5-9 p.m. 2017
Price: FREE

The union between art and spirits is legendary. Plato's Symposium is set at a drinking party, and the Chinese poet Li Bai, a notorious lush, is said to have fallen from his boat and drowned in the Yangtze River while trying to embrace the reflection of the moon. Tap into the tradition at The Mode Lounge, where Ballet Idaho dancers, staff and board of directors will gather to chat about the upcoming season. Learn about Daniel Ojeda's specially commissioned "The Elton John Ballet;" outgoing Artistic Director Peter Anastos' choreography of "Raymonda's Wedding," with music by Alexander Glazunov; and upcoming performances of George Balanchine ballet, "Agon" and "Swan Lake." Maybe after a few cocktails, dancers and staffers will come out of their shells and open up about what it's like to stage "The Nutcracker."
