Benefit Show for Boise Refugee Families

The Shredder, Aug. 4

Moving to a new country is never easy—but being greeted there by a violent act adds to the burden tenfold. To ease some of the heartbreak of the families affected by the tragic incident at the Wylie Street apartment complex on June 30, when a man with a knife attacked nine refugees resettled in Boise, local musicians are coming together for a benefit show to raise funds for the International Rescue Committee to aid them in their recovery. The show will feature performances from hardcore, metal and rock groups including Kira, Lonehand, Natural Evil, Rejection Pact, Sportscourt, and State of Suffering. It's dedicated to Ruya Kadir, the 3-year-old girl who succumbed to her injuries following the attack.
