Best Local Art Gallery 2018

Freak Alley

The fact that Freak Alley took this category—and not for the first time, if you count its years of winning the now-retired category of Best Local Public Art—tells you a lot about the fun, funky identity that Boise residents have cultivated for their city. Freak Alley, located on Bannock Street between Eighth and Ninth streets in the downtown core, is an ever-evolving art project full of city-sanctioned graffiti that comes and goes annually. The people have spoken: This downtown hotspot is the face of the city.

2nd Place: Boise Art Museum,

3rd Place: Visual Arts Collective,
