Best Local Breakfast

This local breakfast joint is so popular , that on weekends, walk-in diners can wait more than an hour to snag one of its 56 seats—but it's worth it. The eggs Benedict with house-made Hollandaise, king-sized breakfast burritos and blueberry pancakes (which one Yelp reviewer said she would happily take as "a substitute birthday cake") never disappoint.

2nd Place: The Griddle—Now serving breakfast for the 69th year running, The Griddle has simple homestyle cooking and friendly service at is four Treasure Valley locations. It still serves homemade granola, "hot cakes" instead of pancakes and the biscuits and gravy are made from scratch.

3rd Place: Big City Coffee—Breakfast and barista-made coffee can be found all day at this Linen District hotspot, where customers and staff both firmly believe that, per the shop motto, "bigger is better." The pastries and hot plates at Big City come in mammoth proportions that, while they won't break the bank, may just burst the buttons on your jeans.
