Best Local Dessert

This old fashioned soda fountain in Hyde Park no doubt snagged the top spot because it serves up the dessert trifecta: ice cream, chocolate and candy. The Goody's motto is "Only too much is enough!" and really, that says it all. With ice cream and chocolates hand made in the store, and menu options like ice cream sodas, shakes, malts and towering triple-scoop banana splits topped with pineapple, chocolate and strawberry sauces, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry, there's no way to go wrong at Goody's unless you pass up ordering all together.

2nd Place: Fork—Justifying Fork's second place spot takes only two words: butter cake. Although its locally-sourced menu changes seasonally to ensure maximum freshness and flavor, the American eatery's signature warm, dense, meltingly sweet butter cake is here to stay. Topped with an Oregon berry coulis and vanilla ice cream from Cloverleaf Creamery, this is a dish for the bucket list.

3rd Place: Barbacoa—First-time visitors to Barbacoa might see dessert as an afterthought to the exotic ambiance, tableside appetizers and finely crafted entrees—but they won't make that mistake twice. Choices like fried ice cream lollipops, lemon lavender tart and campfire s'mores with candied bacon guarantee a repeat visit.
