Mad Mac

For many Boiseans, just the sight of a panel truck adorned with sugar skulls is enough to get their stomachs rumbling. Why? Because the grinning skulls signal the approach of Mad Mac, the restaurant on wheels that serves up mac and cheese—the Treasure Valley's favorite comfort food dish—with twists like fresh jalapenos, barbecue pulled pork and pico de gallo. Considering the votes Mad Mac pulled in, Boise clearly agrees with the company's motto: This is "macaroni to die for."

2nd Place: Calle 75 Street Tacos—Boise loves Calle 75 so much that the food truck, which started out serving up Mexican street fare at the Capital City Public Market in 2008, is now supplemented by a brick-and-mortar location in the Village at Meridian. Check them out for a selection of tacos, burritos and tortas made with regional ingredients.

3rd Place: Kanak Attack—Kanak Attack is a catering company at heart, but that doesn't stop its kick-ass food truck from serving up top-notch Hawaiian island grub. If you only have time for one dish, go for the sweet sugar cane pork over coconut infused rice; it's a match made in food heaven.
