Reel Foods will get you hooked on fresh fish.

Reel Foods Fish Market and Oyster Bar

This cozy eatery and shop off Capitol Boulevard is like a baby Pike Place Market, specializing in restaurant-quality raw fish for the discerning chef or home cook. The seafood at Reel Foods is a mix of local and globally sourced delights, including local salmon and trout, Alaskan king crab and shellfish that's still wiggling, all brought in on a daily basis and hand-cut by the experts behind the counter. If seafood is what's for dinner, let Reel Foods reel you in.

2nd Place: The Boise Co-op—In both Boise Co-op locations, customers can stop by the meat and seafood department for premium protein pickings. Nowhere else stocks as many local suppliers, and shoppers can feel good about getting both environmental and nutritional bang for their buck thanks to signs reporting how the fish was sourced and raised.
