After Sunday, March 6, there will be no trace left of Big City Coffee in the Boise Airport. The popular local eatery opened an outpost at the Boise Airport last year, along with several other local and national restaurants, all of which planted their flags in the traveler's gateway.

Big City took over Moxie Java's old space on Concourse B, Parrilla Grill and 13th Street Pub and Grill set up shop in front of security, and Bardenay, Smashburger and Einstein Bros. took over the central food court.

Relations between the coffee shop and the airport didn't stay sweet, though. New-York based Delaware North took over Big City's airport operation, which lead to complaints from customers and Big City Coffee owner Sarah Fendley alike, according to KTVB.

Fendley ultimately closed the airport location and is now considering a lawsuit against Delaware North. The management company, on the other hand, told KTVB, "Unfortunately, the business concept at the Big City Coffee location did not translate well to the airport environment for a variety of operational reasons."

According to a news release from the Boise Airport, Big City's branding and decorations will be taken down on Sunday, March 6. On the morning of Monday, March 7, River City Coffee & Cafe will begin operating in the same location.

River City has been in business for nearly a decade on State Street.

“River City Coffee & Cafe is excited to be featured as a local partner of the Boise Airport. From our coffee roasted in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to our daily scratch-made pastries, we’re confident that River City Coffee will be a great addition to the Boise Airport,” said Nick Stinemates, General Manager of River City Coffee & Cafe. “We are delighted to share our shop by the Boise River with passengers visiting Boise for the first time and those returning home.”

River City Coffee's airport location will also be managed by Delaware North.
