Re: “Bar Gernika

Who orders a basque sausage on a roll? Obviously the first reviewer is from Canyon County.

Really, does Bar Gernika even need a review? I can't even count how many times I've gone there and it was never bad. Except for the time I dropped one of my croquetas on the floor. But that was my fault.

Re: “Tinpot*

Didn't the ABA, the accrediting body of the law school, require this diversity training after a disappointing site visit? Would the Idaho legislature rather have their only law school shut down?

Re: “The Affordable Care Act Launches Into Reality

Uh, actually the best healthcare in the world is in France. The Affordable Care Act adopts many policies that European countries have had in place for decades. http://www.who.int/whr/2000/media_centre/p…

Re: “Phasing them Out

I had no idea that the abolition of the State Independent Living Council would effect other organizations. I feel bad for the families (whom Idaho Republicans feign to care about) who will now be even more burdened with the care of their physically or mentally disabled loved ones once these Independent Living Centers close.

Re: “Far-reaching Anti-Immigrant Bill Introduced

re: Apple Picker's comment "he should be taxed heavily..." yeah, that will happen. My comment was merely to point out the short-sightedness of the bill and the irony that Idaho lawmakers are seeking to limit a free market, something they claim to value more than fairness, public welfare, or a progressive tax structure.

I agree with cpbjr's comment that this is a bill written for use in stump speeches, not a serious attempt at policy making.

Re: “Far-reaching Anti-Immigrant Bill Introduced

Yes, I'm totally pissed that some immigrant is out in the hot sun picking apples instead of me. I'd quit my office job in a heartbeat.

I also wonder if the "fiscal note" portion of this bill accounts for the drastic increase in operating costs that farmers will experience when they start paying documented workers minimum wage, benefits, and providing proper safety equipment? Why would Idaho legislators want to tinker with such an perfect example of a free market?
