It has been about nine years since we last heard from Body Count, and with a growing body count of their own, it's a surprise to even see a new release on the shelves. The deaths of band members Mooseman, Beatmaster V and D-Roc left Ice-T and Ernie C as the only original players. In true gangsta fashion, instead of mourning, they kept going and replaced the members they lost with OT, Vince Price and Bendrix and put out Murder 4 Hire. Most of the tracks sound as if they were thrown together, and it is pretty hard to get through it the first time around, but stick with it.

For the horror-movie fan, the title track includes the famous "kill-kill-kill" whisper made famous by Jason (Friday the 13th) throughout the song. For those who might like to brush up on their mosh-pit skills, "The Passion of the Christ" should do well. "Down in the Bayou" will appeal to harmonica lovers and "You Don't Know Me (Pain)," gives the listener a tough but honest guided tour through the ghetto.

The band just came off a tour that included Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Amsterdam and the UK but no word of a U.S. tour yet.
