Boise City Dept. of Arts and History Taking Grant Applications Starting Tomorrow

The Boise City Department of Arts & History will begin accepting applications for annual grants May 4.

The grants, given out annually for the last 20 years as part of a citywide arts and culture program, range in size from $1,000-$10,000. Winning projects must take place between Saturday, Oct. 1, and Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, and can include community events, lectures, research, performances and exhibits. Projects will be evaluated based on quality, management, community accessibility or potential legacy, and budget. 

For more information, prospective applicants may attend one of three identical grant workshops at Boise City Hall on Tuesday, May 10,  9-10:30 a.m.; Monday, May 16, 5:30-7 p.m.; and Thursday, May 19, noon-1:30 p.m.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. Grant recipients will be announced in September.

Since 1997, Boise's Department of Arts & History has awarded approximately $900,000 in grants.
