Boise Goathead Fest

Cecil D. Andrus Park, Friday-Saturday, Aug. 3-4

Some people were shocked when Tour de Fat announced it wasn't returning to Boise, but Boise Bicycle Project Director Jimmy Hallyburton wasn't one of them—and BBP has stepped in with a new event to fill the gap. Dubbed "Boise Goathead Fest" and themed around that bane of the Boise bicyclist's existence, the goathead, the party will run Friday-Saturday, Aug. 3-4, at Cecil D. Andrus Park. Entertainment will include a bicycle parade, a performance from Project Flux; live music by Summer Cannibals, Cello Joe, Juice, and Eleven & Jason D; live Radio Boise shows; kids' activities and more. Before the event, BBP asked the community to collect tons of goatheads, and after, it hopes to walk away with $50,000 for a swath of bike-related nonprofits.
