Re: “eMotion in Motion

As a happy owner of a BrendaKaye original, I was delighted by Gina's article on Brenda and her art. She captured the essence of what makes Brenda's works so extraordinary and desireable. I hope the exposure from this article will help others appreciate the vision of BrendaKaye's Idaho.

Re: “Battle Over Ustick Heats Up

I don't get it! I mean, I get why Boise is peaved about ACHD trying to run (or should I say ruin) the City with their wild plans for industrial strength roads running through residential neighborhoods. And, given how little response they've gotten from reasonable requests to ACHD, I can see why they might be exploring more extreem measures. And, I guess I can see ACHD's perspective too. Their middle name is "Highway" afterall. They don't want to build bikelanes, sidewalks, or even basic roads ... they want to build highways. But, what I really can't get is why Ustick Road needs to be widened. Sure there's a lot of growth going on in N Meridian and they'd like better access to Boise. But, even with what's in place out there now -- quite a bit more than when I moved here a couple years ago -- there's still hardly ever a traffic problem on Ustick Road. I drive Ustick on a daily basis and except for a few minutes during the weekday morning and evening rush hours, there is absolutely no traffic activity that requires adding any lanes ... let alone five! If ACHD wants to save us taxpayers money, they can quite trying to force projects like this that are both unwanted and unneeded. Then, they'll have more money to spend on things we really do need them to do -- signal timing optimization, sidewalks, bike lanes, etc. No matter what ACHD says, no matter what the City trys to do in response, the bottom line is Ustick Road is fine just the way it is!
